I can’t get over the fact that among the circles of speculative fiction and alternative history the “The [insert a south american indigenous tribe here] succesfully drove off the european coloniaslist and are still a prominent culture in the modern world etc. etc.” has developed into its own subgenre...

...and still I have yet to find one author that manages to pull the concept properly.
