yooo i need a new laptop and i have No Idea what to buy. i was looking at the xps 15 but my roommate has the xps 13 and i’m using it now and i Hate the keyboard & trackpad :((((

things that matter to me:

has to be windows because fuck macbooks. (i worked in IT for almost 3 years i literally Cannot with macs)

good keyboard (it doesn’t HAVE to be full-size because i know i can get used to a smaller one but like.... i’m coming from a 17in laptop with a fuckin NUMPAD..... so like. a nice big keyboard is great. with good key travel and some kinda lighting ideally.)

powerful wifi adapter because the wifi coverage sucks in my apartment (this is probably not gonna be an issue on newer computers but worth mentioning)

256gb ssd harddrive (bigger is ok obviously but i probably am too cheap to spring for model with a 512gb one)

reasonable speakers??? this isn’t a huge deal tbh, i’m not very picky about ~~audio quality~~

15 inch screen is probably the sweet spot for me. doesn’t really matter if it’s heavy, anything will be lighter than my current laptop and i’m fine with the weight of that one

premium/high-quality build. metal is much better than plastic. i’ve only owned cheapo computers in the past and the plastic just starts to break in year 2-3 and it’s a bummer.

my budget is pretty high because ~~i’m employed~~ and i’m willing to splurge a little?? like i was looking at the $1,400 model of the xps but i honestly cannot imagine spending over a thousand dollars when i hate the keyboard this much aND I SPEND MOST OF MY TIME WRITING hahahahahahaha

pls suggest things or just tell me what you have and whether or not you like it???
