nothing makes me crazier about bridgerton than anthony and daphne and how they'll always have those fights between them and how daphne understands him more than he knows and how he's grateful in a way he can never admit.

they're the eldest son and the eldest daughter and it's so different and so the same and where violet apologized to anthony for her absence, daphne never had to, but she just looked and witnessed and knew and he shut her down because he's never talked about his father to anyone and she's the little sister he has to protect and who can't possibly know better than him.

and she tells him their father is the only one he's ever respected and listened to and he tells her he talked with him differently than with her so she doesn't know and then it's just... never addressed again.

and it's so typical for siblings, who fight and then cease and don't talk about it again because in a way it doesn't matter, but it's also something deep that they should acknowledge and their characters are set up in a way where that'll probably never, ever happen because that's just not how the older brother-younger sister thing works, not to anthony.

so they just exist in this world where they owe each other and, after season 2, respect each other, and they'll always, always adore one another and it'll never be put into words but maybe just the act of it is enough.
