The Medicham was helpless before the overly affectionate, comfort-boundary-breaking Jysharp’s embrace, being swung around in her grip, all while Anzu could only barely mutter in protest when she isn’t groaning in pain.
But thankfully the pain did not last; minutes later she was finally freed and crumpled to the floor, clutching her heart as she took in deep breaths of that sweet, sweet oxygen she was being robbed off. Rising herself back up, Anzu reached for a potion while she still had consciousness, feeling her body’s state being restored.
Whew... sweet relief.
Once she was more or less conscious, the otherwise perky Medicham could only grin awkwardly at the taller warrior, giving a forced chuckle as she waved a hand dismissively.
“Ahh, uh, heh, th-thanks for the compliments I guess?” she started, obviously left uncomfortable by Artemisia’s sudden display, “Trust me, I can more than handle myself around here! I may be a merchant, but when it comes to trouble, prices aren’t the only things I can cut in half~ As for my home? My uh, my home’s an island away from here, where many and my other sisters come from! Quite a fun and lively place, booming with people and business! But hey, seeing sights and going on a business journey is its own sorta reward! “ She reassured with a playful smirk and wink, before returning to that forced smile.
“Now uh, next time, could you, y’know, NOT do that, please?”
Without a moment to spare, the red Medicham swiftly reached into her backpack, burrowing her fingers through the pockets without even looking back before plucking out a bag full of Nanab Berry Tea mix. Thusly, Anzu swerved up to Teiden, possible shocking him with her speed and eagerness as she began to advertise the product.
“Nanab Berries are rich in potassium and magnesium, yeah? By making tea with this, after a few gulps, it allows those poor overclocked blood vessels and muscles to relax, thus making it easier for your friend to take a much-needed, no-expense-paid trip to the Dream World~!” The spritely Psychic Fighter chimed with a giggle. “There’s no better remedies than those made from nature, and while Nanab’s aren’t native to THIS place, I’m more than willing to sell ya several at a sweet price! Whaddaya say, hm? Interested~?”
The golden solar rays gleamed off the spritely nomadic Medicham girl's coin, fitting a cute, if cartoony, smirk as she flipped the metal before catching it swiftly in her palm. Even without the brilliance of the morning sun, this girl had a warm radiance all her own; with her humming and grinning cheer as she sauntered up along the mountain trail, she seemed to be having a good start of the day! Or at least, seems to have good vibes for it.
"Another day, another line of sales just waiting to be made~" The red psychic pugilist smiled down at the yellow coin with glittering eyes, looking quite fond of it, if her giving it a brief kiss before tucking it neatly away didn't seem to showcase it. "So much strife around this side of the country lately... there's bound to be some souls looking for a little assistance somehow, somewhere~!"
As she turned the broad corner of the mountain side, the Medicham felt a rather glowing, yet serene aura... it was very welcoming, so much so that she could even feel her excited heartbeat yielding to more tranquil, tender rhythms. Ever curious, the girl made her way over and came across a new sight -- and a new face.
"Ommmmm..."
Beneath the otherworldly blanket of swirling clouds, nestled another Medicham, a male one this time. He was rather curious... a fellow kin of her kind in whites and blues, bearing a blow snowfall-themed robe and a very puffy collar, akin to clouds, or an Altaria mane...?
"Oh...?" she pondered to herself, very curious on the display as is. While their species is known for practices like these, even to stereotypical levels, as she quietly watched, she noticed he was seated in a meditative position, as the sun and moon-like orbs rose from his palms and circled with the shining nimbus. Sun and moon, locked in a delicate dance amongst the clouds... whatever this man was doing, it was a rather gorgeous show, and he seemed to be lost in it.
And yet... she saw interest in him beyond this moment of silence, as an eager smile curved onto her face. With little to no warning, she sauntered over and waved to the fellow meditator, calling out to him in an almost singsong-like friendly tone.
"Gooooood MORNING, stranger~!"
"..."
Slowly, oh so slowly, the dance of clouds and lights dissipated from the blue one's crown, bringing his hands down upon his knees as the gem on his forehead gave one last glow, signalling the end of the sequence. And with the same gracefully steady speed, the ice-like psychic opened his eyes, resting those rosy pink sights on the crimson one. A few seconds of silence were shared before he raised an open palm and waved it to her in a side-arcing fashion.
"... Amaya's Greetings, madame," he answered with a calm, smooth, relaxing tone to his voice, further adding to his monk-like impression. "This humble one is named Yun. Is it morning already? What brings a lively soul like yourself to these sun-bathed mountains?"
"Hah, I could ask the same about you, dreamer-boy! Looks like you were putting on quite a show there! Sorry to disrupt ya, don't mind me, just a free-roaming merchant gal passing through to see if anyone needs help around here," the red girl chirped with a cute grin. "The name's Anzu, by the way!"
"How courteous of you, wishing to seek those in need of assistance," acknowledged the blue one with an approving nod. "Such a daring spirit to reach such elevations for such a cause."
"Mmhm! And speaking of which... whatcha doin' here all alone? No food, no water, no supplies at all?" And without any time for him to react, sidled up to him and held up a bottle of what appeared to be a potion, eyes a-glitter.
"Could I interest ya in a potion or such? Something to help perk ya up to get a good headstart on the day, or in case you're ever in a tight spot? Best to be prepared after all~!"
Despite the amusement yet discomfort of suddenness of it all, Yun merely held his palms together and retained that calm composure. "Your assistance is most appreciated, madame. However, I am in no need of such concoctions. I only drink water, as well as brewed teas and remedies that hail from my home."
"Aw, not interested huh? That's fine! Well if not something for THAT sort of energy...!" she holds up a purple bottle with an equally cheery smirk. "How 'bout an Ether? Using those fancy psychic powers of yours oughta take it out of that handsome head of yours, y'know? Never hurts to stay on top of the game by ensuring you're loaded and ready! Better than running on empty!"
Yun could only chuckle, it was easy to see that this girl was going to be pushy. "Nay, that won't be necessary. I was merely meditating in the form as practiced by my fellowship, Yume No Michi, or the Dream's Path, if you prefer. While yes, I do release psychic energy during such concentrations, it is in relatively small doses, given my power. It is a form of exercise as well as spirituality that I m to hone every day. You need not worry, it is for the best."
Twice rejected... third time's the charm? Maybe pull out something that'll really catch those odd yet pretty eyes of his. With a confident grin, Anzu reached into her sack and pulled out a glowing mahogany gemstone, holding it out to the blue Medicham. "In that case, how 'bout a li'l Fighting gem for your troubles? Ya sound like you have lots of psychic energy to spare, but it never hurts to keep those athletic muscles of yours in check too~! You're clearly a guy that has a passion but priorities! Perhaps this'll help you out in a pinch whenever you think you could use a li'l boost?" Anzu chimed, turning the rock so that it intentionally shines off the light of the sun to entice him further. "Who knows, it might even just--"
Before she could finish, Yun merely raised an open palm, gently, as his eyes remained fixed on the girl. "Accessories are just that, madame; extraneous trinkets that are not required, but are more of a matter of wants, stemmed from one's personal decisions. And I decide that I do not have any use for them." He then held his hands out in a meditative 'pinched' pose for each as he lifted his head and closed his eyes. "You're clearly a woman of passion yourself, dedicated to your craft and trade. Truly commendable. I can see you becoming a very noteworthy saleswoman, looking out only for the best of others with your wares. Alas, I am not one of them, but so long as you continue down your dream path of your career, fortune shall find you."
"..."
Shut down. Absolutely shut down, unsuccessful sale and only at the third attempt. Anzu could only look away in minor annoyance at best, or worse even. She couldn't even be mad about it, with how Yun not only declined her politely, but bestowed confidence and good wishes on her endeavors.
<<Well, you really ARE a saint, aren't you...?>> she thought to herself, unaware that Yun, being a Medicham, could hear such thoughts, but will keep to himself out of respect for privacy. Nevertheless, Anzu just gave a somewhat defeated sigh before rotating her shoulders, lifting her pack up before facing Yun once more.
"Alright, no problem!" Anzu answered cheerfully as she walked past, but not before turning over to wave off Yun in a sign of no hard feelings. "Well, I oughta get going, so I guess I'll leave ya be for now! Take care, don't think too hard now! Oh and uh, thanks for the compliment, I guess?"
"It is no trouble. May the light of the sun and moon guide you, madame," Yun wished in a genuinely earnest fashion, fingertips prodded delicately together as he wished her the best of luck. As they parted ways, Yun couldn't help but feel something... off, deep within the mountain. A sort of... negative, yet familiar energy within the chasms. Curious, he decided to mindfully walk down the mountain path, while Anzu pressed on in hopes of finding another customer...
