POSTING CHAPTERS FROM DRAFTS

Making a chapter draft:

make a New Work and make your first chapter how you want it

save as Draft

it will now appear in your Drafts. underneath the fic info are several buttons: click on Add Chapter a. you'll notice the page that opens is simplified compared to a new work. you cannot add new tags from this page, so if you're adding new tags to a work as you go, you'll need to update the fic itself each time

create your new chapter, and click Preview

from the preview, make sure it looks as it should. then click Save as Draft

Editing chapter drafts:

go to your drafts and click Edit under the fic

on the top right you will see Edit Chapter: and buttons for each one you've already made

choose the chapter you want to edit

make your edits

Save as Draft

Posting a single chapter at a time:

go to your drafts and click on the title of your work

scroll down to the chapter title

click Edit Chapter

for the Chapter Publication Date, change to that day's date!!

click Preview and make sure everything looks good

all good????

okay click Post Chapter :)

all done!!

EMBEDDING ART ON AO3: quick n dirty version for authors:

obtain the art from your artist

go to postimages

make sure you choose no expiration from the options

upload the art from your device

copy the direct link

go to your fic on ao3 and open it to Edit

go down to Work Text and choose Rich Text formatting

navigate to where you want the art positioned in your fic and make a new paragraph (aka hit Enter)

choose the insert/edit image button (shaped like a photo) from the toolbar and put the direct link you copied from postimages into the Source. you can also add a quick image description to make it more accessible to those reading with screen readers!

click save

remember to save ur draft!!!!!!!!!

for artists: these same guidelines apply for uploading the art by itself!! u just can disregard positioning it within a fic :)
