I think the writers of Endgame missed a very big opportunity to make Hawkeye's hearing loss canon, they had the perfect time! The damn Avengers compound collapses/caved in on them! Do you know how easy it would have been?

Clint regains consciousness, we hear this loud ringing, his vision is slightly off and a large groan of pain as he rises to his feet. We finally get a good look at Clint whose shaking his head trying to focus, he can faintly hear nosies but can't place what they are or where they're coming from? He rubs his ears trying to make it better, under the impression it's simply from the impact but when he pulls his hands away there's blood on them, his ears are bleeding. He's injured, it's normal he could've died. He expects it to clear up which it does but only his vision, it's sounds that are still muffled.

Clint doesnt have an opportunity to truly understand what is going on but the one thing he knows for sure is protect the stones. He has to protect the stones. The way he moves seems uncoordinated and the fact that he can barely hear the things chasing him sets him in a panic. It's a miracle he escapes, gauntlet in his arms and even with his ears ringing he fights because Laura is back, he heard her and if Laura is back then his kids are back and he needs to get out of this alive if he's ever going to see them.

He doesn't put two and two together until after the Battle when he's standing on the field in a daze. The world sounds different because he can't hear it properly, it's eerily quiet and he looks lost. It's Scott who notices. He calls out to him and Clint swears he can hear something but he's not entirely sure anymore. It's as if someone is covering his ears and shouting at him. The world that was once full of sounds, even with 50% of the population gone.... is quiet.
