'Light of Mute' by Aof Smith
Aof Smith’s “Irrepressible Summer Melody.”
Currently on view at Thinkspace Projects in Los Angeles, California is artist Aof Smith’s solo exhibition, “Irrepressible Summer Melody.”
The Thai contemporary artist expresses his perception and imagination through the limitless possibilities of Pop-surrealism. With lovable characters that create whimsical scenarios and dynamics, Smith balances an innate dark humor with lighter, brighter elements.

Thinkspace Projects presents 'Happy Place', a group art exhibition based on the #ThinkspaceHappyPlace contest held during the Covid-19 lockdown of summer 2020. They had over 300 creatives submit their version of their happy place, a place that they escaped to, in order to survive mentally through the past year. 20 of their favorite submissions chosen and the artists asked to each submit a work measuring 12" x 12" that kept with the theme of the original contest. Be happy.
The opening reception is Saturday July 17 from 6-9pm PT at Thinkspace Projects, 4217 W Jefferson Blvd., Los Angeles, CA. 90016, open to the public for viewing the art safely with social distancing and masks required, and on the Thinkspace Projects website.
The exhibition runs from Saturday July 17 through August 7 2021.

Greatly influenced by American Pop-Surrealism, Aof Smith maintains the dream-scape of the surrealists and the celebration of the shallow world often associated to pop art. Having developed his own style, Aof Smith personal sense of colours brings forward vivid and full-flavoured visuals that add dimensions and volume to the layers of characters in his works. In this exhibition, not only does Aof Smith spare no techniques, he also uses special colours to add further depths to his fantasy world.
