She had been switching between running and hiding for possibly ten minutes now, she estimates. If this was a nightmare, it was the most vivid she’s ever experienced. The landscape featured only large black buildings twisted in their shapes, there was no other person around these streets and she was being chased by some kind of monster.
Everything pointed to this being a very surreal dream, and yet she could not ‘wake up’ from it. Ducking around the corner of a collapsed wall, she presses her back against the wall, catching her breath as she wonders whether she’s fallen into some kind of other dimension, or if someone slipped her one very potent drug. She doesn’t have time to ponder on it for long before she hears an unpleasant sound from some distance away, and she’s left trying to decide whether to sprint again, or try to sneak away.
