a/n : i had the idea for this fic from a bonus chapter in the ACWNR manga, no spoilers.
A heavy sun dangled above your heads as your horses hooves hit the ground on the way to your next mission. You've been ordered to accompany Levi for a short trip to a nearby village where a shop owner who's acquainted with Erwin, was waiting for the captain. The commander sent you to bring some documents the man managed to steal from a member of the military police after he heard remarks regarding the Survey Corps expeditions and how they were planning on stopping the next one.
Once you reached your destination, you took in your surroundings as it was your first time in this village, Levi stopped and attached his horse next to yours.
"Come with me" he said, starting to look for someone he could ask for the location of the shop.
You stayed close to your Captain as you too walked slowly to the center of what seemed to be the main village square.
There was a big man there and two younger-but taller-boys. The broader man appeared to be in his late thirties, maybe forties, he was wearing a white undershirt drenched in sweat with various dark stains randomly splashed all over it. He had bushy and ashy long hair with a bandana tied on top of his head, he also had an impressive mustache and a prominent beard with even more prominent strong arms to go with it. He was hitting with an incredible force what seemed to be a blade, crushing it between his hammer and a worn out anvil.
A blacksmith ?
He sure looked like one, and the two young boys with him looked like his assistants.
They weren't the only persons around, there were some other villagers scattered around, some elderly couples sitting on benches and some children trying to feed a shoe to a goat not far from you.
Moving your eyes away from the harassed animal being forced to bite into the shoe, you saw Levi already heading for the giant blacksmith guy. You heard him ask for the shop's name.
The blacksmith let go off his heavy hammer letting it land violently on the floor, and looking at who was talking to him, he let out a boastful laugh.
"Look who came to this lost part of the world ! The one and only Captain Levi !" he said way too loudly than necessary.
"Just answer the question beardo" replied the Captain.
"Humanity's strongest none the less !" continued the blacksmith ignoring levi's remark " I always wanted to know if you were as strong as the stories says ! Who knew such a tiny man was guarding us from those giant monsters !"
This time it was Levi's turn to ignore the ostentatious man, he turned towards you and told you to follow him "let's go ask someone else"
"Hey ! don't you dare turn your back on me ! Captain"
Levi was about to ignore the man's rude calling when he heard you yelp suddenly. The Captain turned before you could utter another one.
"Hey ! Let go of her !" shouted Levi as the man grabbed your arm bending it in an incredibly painful way, pressing your back against his sticky chest.
Levi quickly rushed towards you to snatch you from the man who made a quick step away from him and threw you over one of the younger boys who grabbed you even tighter The blacksmith stepped forward, placing himself in front of Levi.
"I don't like people turning their back on me. I always wanted to meet you Captain, always wanted to see what you're really made of "
Levi was boiling, you could see his rage in his eyes.
"That's a fairly nice lady that you brought with ya, you're quite the lucky man'" He glanced at you for some seconds over his shoulder as he spoke. "I think i'm gonna borrow her" He laughed, showing rows of strong square teeth.
"Look shithead you're gonna let go of right now or-"
By now, a small group of persons started gathering around, curious about what was going on, ogling the two survey corps members.
"Behold everyone ! Humanity's strongest is here with us today ! and i'm challenging him right now to an arm wrestling dual !"
Levi got just as startled as you by the claim, he never agreed to an arm wrestling ! but the blacksmith continued his show :
"And the prize is this young lady! Whoever wins gets to take her home !"
The loud cheers suddenly blowing up around you made you realize how big the crowd had become right now, mostly men but there were some women in the heap. You felt almost nauseous, you could feel a lump making swallowing your spit harder than ever. The young man restrained you like a dog, you felt an incredible rage towards him but he held you in such a way that made it impossible to hit him in any weak spot, so you just let go of the idea of resisting and put all your faith in Levi.
