This day has been very strange. I felt like I was living in a movie and watching it at the same time.
I suppose many people already know what happened here in Spain, the nationwide blackout. I've been lucky enough to be at home working online, so my experience has been more like waiting. I think the part about being completely cut off has been the worst. We never know how much we rely on the internet until it's taken away from us. Every time I thought about doing something, I thought about looking it up online, and oh shit! I couldn't.
This has definitely been a wake-up call. I don't know if it will happen again; I really hope not. But I think we should be more prepared for this kind of thing. Just in case.
Hi friends, how are you doing? All of Spain has been without electricity since 12 p.m. until just now ā no power, no internet, and no phone signal, nationwide. Iāve just made it back to the 21st century. Howās the start of your week going? All good?
Eeh soo yesterday was surreal and chaotic. I donāt know until what point the blackout is being covered in the news of the world because the Internet just got back
It was like a film. Only there was no way of knowing what was going on. I couldnāt contact anyone. At first we thought it was only our street. We found a battery radio and we were able to listen that it had affected the whole country
Hope everyone affected is alright
Yesterday in Spain there was a massive nation-wide blackout and, apart from the expected issues, instead of the riots and chaos announced for years by disaster movies, people talked with their neighbours, played music and the radio in the streets and went to the bars because the drinks were still cold
Community against collapse
Spain blackout
Lol
What a time to be a millennial in Spain. Economic crises, four popes, a global pandemic, a volcano, the rise of the far right, wars on the horizon, and now a general power outage.
