Soap || Hunter & _____
The laundry room was empty of people. Used machines whirred and bounced in their respective places as they waited for owners to come retrieve their clothing. The loud noise reverberated off of the walls of the room. Hunter kept his basket by his feet as he stood over a free washing machine. He'd wanted to limit the amount of time walking to and from the basket. This way, he'd have a better chance simply getting in and out of the room. This way, he'd have a better chance avoiding people.
A sigh left his lips as he pressed the button to start the water going. He was quite distracted for a moment, as he watched it tumble over the clothes that were in there, enveloping them in a hot bath. They darkened as they drank up the water, becoming heavy and soaked. With a small smile, Hunter turned away and reached out to pick up the open bottle of detergent.
As he tipped it over, completely prepared to make the right guestimation as to how much should go in, however, the bottle slipped from his fingers, crashing into the water with a splash. The soap had already begun to pour out, and by the time Hunter dove forward to take it from the washing machine it was too late. Nearly half of the soap that had been in there was gone. Eyes wide, Hunter stared into the machine, and, to his dismay, huge bubbles were already beginning to form, rising higher and higher as the churning water urged them on.
"Oh God! I don't...what...I..." Hunter mumbled, taking a step back. His mind seemed to lose any rational thoughts. He hadn't a clue what to do. And it was as the first bubble appeared over the edge of the machine, that Hunter really regretted not taking Home Ec.
