Hetalia Drinking Headcanons:
Hws Prussia: (Whenever I think of nations that drink, I usually think of Gilbert.) He’s in the pub a lot. If he’s not drinking with other nations, he’ll be in a pub talking to the other patrons. But Gilbert only drinks for the social aspect. As much as he loves a good beer, he hates the feeling of being drunk. (He likes control too much to get drunk.) He has a pretty high tolerance but rarely goes beyond being slightly buzzed. (Hmm, he’d probably be a quiet drunk or an emotional one- he talks a lot when he’s tipsy but as soon as he’s drunk he gets very melancholy)
Hws France: Francis drinks a lot (much more than Prussia). He’ll have some wine; as a nightcap, with his meals and just because he likes the taste. Rarely does actually get drunk but unlike Gilbert he’s not against the feeling. I feel like Francis is lucky he’s a nation because the amount of alcohol he drinks is not healthy. Still he has a high tolerance, and he does enjoy watching England stumble while he’s still in full control. (I vibe that France is a messy drunk, all composure is gone when he’s had too many. He’ll spill drinks and drape himself over other people because he can’t stand straight.-he also gets very philosophical)
Hws England: While Francis likes his wine and Gilbert likes his beer, Arthur’s all about that top shelf stuff. Rum, whiskey, brandy and even gin are all his go to’s. But Arthur doesn’t drink as often as the other two. Sometimes he’ll have a nightcap, but usually Arthur only drinks when he plans on getting drunk. He seems like a lightweight at first glance because by the time someone’s finished a beer, he’s drank two rum and cokes. Arthur drinks a lot of alcohol in a short amount of time but if you pay attention, it actually takes a fair amount of alcohol to get him drunk. (We already know he’s an emotional drunk, though I think sometimes he’s also a fun/reckless drunk depending on what he’s drinking)
Hws America: Alfred doesn’t really drink. He’s never seen the appeal and doesn’t like the taste. Whenever he’s out with people who are drinking, he plays the hero, he has to look after his friends. Though on the rare occasions when he does drink, it’s some fruity cocktail that hides the taste of the alcohol. And whenever he drinks, it’s usually just one. He’s a lightweight, he doesn’t drink as much nor he doesn’t have the same tolerance as some of the other nations. (100% would be an affectionate drunk)
