If you’ve been good, they’ll let us go home... if not, you might get lost forever.”

he hands the following letter to her as their first-ever meeting concludes; he hurries to disappear into the crowd of people leaving, deliberately trying to not give her any chance to ask him about it, mostly because it’s fun sometimes to act super suspicious.  the note has been folded crisply in half, and on the outside is written, ‘for Alleyoop only, destroy after reading.’

Next time we’re all here instead of coming in through the front doors go through the garden on the right and around the side.  There’s a step ladder propped up beneath one of the groundfloor windows near the back.  There should be a little pebble in the window keeping it from closing all the way so you will be able to open it. 

There’s a big settee beneath the window you can climb through onto, if you go out that door and turn right and up the stairs you can reach our club room right away without running into anybody else.  Molossia and I made it to be like a secret spy route.  I use it all the time when I’m not in the mood to let my brother spot me and ask in front of everyone why the hell I’m there.  You don’t have to use it obviously but I figured it’s only right that you know!!

Listen, right, if you’ve got a deal with someone but it starts goin’ sour, really, any agreements you ‘ad up until then don’t really... nneeeeeeed... to mean anythin’, yeah?

Sure, people might say you went back on your word, but that’s only because they’re sore losers and ought’ve known better than to get you so mad at ‘em in the first place.  And because they know they can’t actually get the law to come down on you for breakin’ your word-- else, it already would’ve done!
