Headcanon that the seasons move backwards in mcd. As in Summer then Spring then Winter and Fall.

Hear me out:

When the series begins, it definitely feels like summer. Everyone's busy and everything is focused on working and farming.

When Levin gets introduced it slowly starts feeling like spring. There's babies everywhere, the wedding, the world is filled with new discovery

The Malachi/Picoro arc is obviously winter, however short the snow period may have been, maybe they just have really warm winters.

And when they return and towards the war arc is totally an autumn vibe. Everything is warm tones, browns of the armor, Lucindas orange trees

It kinda extends to season 2 in a way but that's a bit more muddled because they travel a lot and the Enki island is literally cursed to be in eternal winter but there is definitely a vibe of going from Fall to Summer.

In the debate on who is better, between Garroth and Laurence, I have always been a Garroth fan. He just hits my personal preferences more, and I've found his story to be more compelling (especially his MCD-unrequited love-trapped in the Irene dimension stuff). However, I understand and appreciate Laurence, I get why other people like him and I agree with them. Laurence isn't inherently tragic, the way I see Garroth to be, but he is still tortured. Like bro was captured, tortured, forced into an oath of 'evil', died and came back in the process, had his body physically altered to the point of permanent and painful changes and blindness. He killed an entire werewolf pack in a blind rage and felt horrible from it. He lost the girl (Aph), found the girl, lost her again and then (albeit very poorly, but so did Garroth) accepted he'd never be her person, and still showed up for her. To my memory, he has not been able to go back to Metelli since leaving his home for Aphmau. Nor has he really even been able to see Cadenza, he saw her maybe like once after she came back from being a chicken.

And despite all of that, he's still a lover. He's still suave and caring. He tries his best to communicate with his friends (yeah he gets angry and emotional, but who wouldn't), and he tries his best to be at peace with everything that's happened to him. Despite his hatred of what he's done and been through, he still recognizes that he has the ability and chance to be better. He still wants to be better. He has always had a hope, and the charisma to make others believe in it, that only ever faltered when he learned Aphmau was pregnant (arguably a terrible time for everyone), when he just came back from literally hell and being blind. And then the great hiatus happened, so I don't know what he would've done. But he was funny as hell in Mystreet. That being said, I get it. I get why people like Laurence. I like Laurence. And I wish we got more of him in better circumstances, and as a man who's grown in similar ways as his friends. (NOT TO MENTION HIS ABSOLUTE ADORATION OF HIS LITTLE BROTHER IN MYSTREET LIKE I WANT MORE OF THAT I WANT TO SEE HIM TAKING THE TIME TO BE A BIG BROTHER WHICH IS SOMETHING I IMAGINE HIM TO BE EXCITED AND SCARED ABOUT HIS BEST FRIEND FROM FOREVER IS A BIG BROTHER AND A GOOD ONE IN HIS OPINION AND EVEN THOUGH IT WAS NEVER SOMETHING HE NEEDED I WOULDN'T BE SURPRISED IF HE THOUGHT ABOUT IT FOR HIMSELF AND HE WANTS TO BE A GOOD ROLE MODEL WE SEE IT IN MCD WITH MALACHI OOOOUGH THE LAYERS THIS MAN HAS THE LAYERS I WISH JESS GAVE HIM THE SPACE TO LIVE UP TO HIS POTENTIAL IN ANY OF HER SERIES BUT I UNDERSTAND HES A CHARACTER SHE'S JUST NOT THAT INTO RIGHT NOW)

My problem with my Aphverse rewrite is I could write an entire book on every character and then I could write five more about every region and then another on every species in my rewrite

And then of course I can write my books on the main plot but it expands so much farther than that because I have a special interest and a hyperfixation and this is so wide branching that I could pick a random name, make them a species in Tu'la, and write them an entire book of a story/life

Aphverse rewrite is not a hobby it's a way of life /hj
