Like I've mentioned I am Aladar. I use all pronouns, but prefer masculine terminology.

I really like sharks, fish, animations, aphmau, music, my roommate, horses (mainly mlp tho), tmnt and turtles in general, writing, dogs, puppy stuff, bobs burgers, transformers, ninjago, etc.

I'm pretty new to tumblr so I'm learning the ropes in my spare time. I'd love to talk to people about the things I like, so feel free to reach out.

it’s okay to do things that make your symptoms worse (as long as you’ll stay safe)

every once in a while you need to eat something yummy. or go on a walk. or a trip to the zoo. take a hot shower. cry your eyes out. dance. listen to music. draw for way to long. write. laugh. sit in a cafe with a friend. paint your nails. dye your hair. go on a run. pet a cat

sometimes you need to do things that are cathartic or make yourself feel alive. sometimes you need the reminder of why you’re fighting so hard to stay alive

this is your reminder that just because it makes your symptoms worse, it isn’t always the wrong thing to do. there can be value in these actions

If you think about it too, abled people do it all the time. Deciding to drink to excess at a party knowing they'll have a hangover. Going to a theme park knowing walking all day is going to hurt their feet by the end. We have the right to make those same decisions.

This is called Dignity of Risk, and it's an important concept in disability justice.

Everyone weighs their physical and mental/emotional health against one another in constantly shifting balance; inevitably, there are times when we choose to accept consequences to one for the sake of the other.

Infantilsing us by undermining our agency in the name of "protection" or "care" is yet another way that we are disabled by society.

bloodymary x pacific rim au ideas/yapping SPOILERS FOR ALL MOVIES (i havent read the phm book sry) I MEAN A LOOOT OF YAP

Grace is a scientist recruited somewhat against his will to help research kaiju (basically the same as the beginning of phm movie)

Rocky is an engineer working on building a jaeger called the Hail Mary¹ 😮

Adrian works with grace in The Lab™ 

NOW HERES WHERE SIMON COMES IN

He used to pilot this older jaeger called the SM-13² for Eden³  Simon at some point fought a higher class Kaiju⁴ and ended up losing his arm and maybe got kaiju goo in his eye or something

SM13 basically scrapped after that but now Simon is called back to pilot the new Hail Mary jaeger!! cause he was the best in the biz idk

He tries to drift with a bunch of other possible candidates, but none of them can handle his Evil Blood Trauma™ so either he finds someone to drift with or they pick a new person

Through Rocky/Adrian Simon ends up going to the lab and meeting Grace and the two hit it off <3

Happy ending, Grace ends up being able to drift with Simon and they pilot the Hail Mary together

Bonus points if their first mission is defeating a Kaiju nicknamed Sun Eater or something similar⁵

¹ new and possibly solar energy related (if I could draw mechs there would be so much petrova line symbolism) ² in the first pacific rim movie they say older models run on dangerous nuclear power so maybe there was the equivalent of the “photo flash” death like from the iron lung movie where Simon accidentally killed a technician or something ³ a different base on the Pacific (possibly Korean based cause idk Mark) but it's more strict and had that doomsday mentality (def not a cult right?) ⁴ Code name: Ellie (looks like blood eel) ⁵ astrophage reference :D

because you don’t draw inspiration from a show for visual/thematic symbolism, which del Toro did for Pacific Rim, in your own work unless you love said show
