4: What’s your favorite line of dialogue?

Does the entirety of chapter fifteen count? Because my Iceland X Fridge game was pretty on-point…

Probably Iceland’s wolf-whistle followed by the word “classy” after he sees the fridge

5: What part was hardest to write?

The beginning of Act III was so rough omg that was hell. From the Valentine’s Dance subplot to the time Matthias got kicked out I felt like I was kinda BS’ing my way through

It was the one section I hadn’t written up a detailed synopsis of in my planning and dear lord did it show oh my gosh

6: What makes this fic special or different from all your other fics?

Probably its connections to real life people I know. Both Matthias and Lukas’ backstories were based off of my dad’s experiences growing up during the DC punk scene in the early 90s.

His dad never took off, but his mom did, and he was kicked out at one point for associating with punks (like Mat, except his mother acted a bit less harsh and had a cleaner resolution than my dad did with his step-mom). Like Lukas, he was also sober (though my dad didn’t smoke), and he was also that little shit who always had perfect grades in math class.

I look up to him a lot and I’ve also taken an interest in punk music, so when I decided to write a punk/nerd AU fic, his story was the first thing I turned to for a reference point.

the most funny thing about the fact they bring all the shit out when he's dead, is that if they made all that noise while he was alive they might get an actual response? he might have actually owned up to it and tried to make amends? but nope, they wait until he's dead and nothing can be done about it. it's almost like they just want to make the people grieving feel bad for ever having liked him. (sorry for continuing the rant;; feel free to reply on private or ignore if you want)
