It would be a canon compliant fic starting sometime before acwnr, probably when Levi is about 20. The difficult thing about Levi is that we kind of already know what he was like after Kenny left him (focused on survival and making a name for himself in the underground) and what caused him to change and grow (forming a found family with Furlan and Isabel and joining the Scouts). So, in terms of plot, i feel like there’s so little to explore!
I think one possibility is to look at Levi’s relationship with intimacy. It would be interesting to think about whether he has some complicated feelings about sex and romance, considering his mother was a sex worker. I don’t think he’d view other sex workers harshly. I also think he’d be curious and want to experience intimacy, but at the same time, he must have some hangups. For example, would he be stubbornly against risking bringing a child into the underground? Would he be super conscious of the risk of contracting venereal diseases? And would he view himself as undeserving to engage in sex, even if it were freely on offer, because he doesn’t see himself as someone who could give his partner a good life?
Asdflkjhaskhd honestly all i have so far are these broad themes and nothing anchoring them haha. I could see it playing out in a loose structure, where Levi forms a connection with reader (who has these aspirations about horses and perfumes and a soft life on the surface while being a realist who understands she’ll probably never leave the underground), breaks his rules about intimacy with her, and leaves to join the Survey Corps. But i don’t have a clue how to structure the plot or where to end the story 😅 literally just concepts of a plan.
