since youre getting all these asks: is there one member of their little foursome that you personally relate to the most? i know you said you're most comfortable writing for omark and helly, but like which of them do you think you're actually most similar to? and if it's not omark or helly then what is it that makes the person you relate to most be less comfortable for you to write? im curious because you are a like an omark-whisperer to me lol but idk if you get him so well bc you feel similar to him or bc putting yourself in his shoes just comes naturally

I wouldn’t say I’m like oMark but I get where he’s coming from? He’s suchhhh an asshole and severance is a reprehensible thing to do, but I think many people can relate to being so deep in a hole you see the appeal of a middle road between living and dying. Not engaging enough with the world that it can cause you more suffering, but still physically present so your sister won’t miss you. Obviously that middle road does not actually exist and he is a fool for thinking it did, but I can understand seeing the mirage and wanting to walk toward it. And also how crazy it feels to wake up from that feeling and have to deal with the reality that’s left behind.

I definitely relate to Helly’s authority problem and lack of tolerance for bullshit, lol, and her tendency to thrash when trapped. I wish I was as brave and uncompromising as her!

The only thing I couldn't find a representation of that I usually have on me is a pocket knife. I love being a girl who always has a knife. My coolest one is a Higonokami folding knife, and I have a little Gerber skeleton knife if I need something with a blade that locks. I am often losing these to concert security measures, etc, but that's a price I'm willing to pay to be Knife Girl.

You'll notice I have a notebook but not a pencil. That is because I often forget one or the other

Headphones of choice are Koss Porta Pros bc I wanted to serve Caroline Polachek. The bluetooth ones are a little more expensive than frankly makes sense but they are indeed very cool and sound great.

My wallet contains basically all forms of payment/ID I own and my keys are attached to it to. If I ever lose it I think I will just drop dead

Rock of choice has a section of fossilized crinoid stem that puts a hole through the middle. This obviously makes it magic. I will often also carry a seasonal nut (acorn, coffeetree bean, buckeye) if I see one that's particularly nice. Squirrel behaviour

just wanted to say thank you for your helly saw trap fic.... it feels like everyone is in the saw trap in that fic universe and situation in some ways. imark omark and helly. The switching. The desires. The innie and outie bleed and the fear of disappearing or being consumed. Such delicious territory.

omark and imark gaining each other almost. consuming. Wondering what will happen when your other self appears and you aren't there.

iMark is dealing with so much in that universe. Some version of the memory bleed his outie is experiencing, plus the fear he could switch and hurt the person he cares about most (he pushed her once, what if he gets desperate and does something worse?), and he’s losing already limited time with her every time it happens.

I cut it bc there wasn’t anywhere good for it to go but there was originally a bit where Helly recounts that iMark tried to insist they stop sleeping together after oMark hurts her, and she’s like, please, I need you here, I’m not letting him take you from me, etc.

I have never had a beta but based on the amount of severance fics i have read, fractions really is the beta (glue) holding a lot of the fics and severance ao3 together....

yes we are lucky to have her! I’m willing to bet our tag has like, 30% better adherence to punctuation rules than other fandoms purely due to her influence.
