@kayllans_honey Apiary. It’s always important for a beekeeper to inspect and manage the hives regularly. The bees in this hive had gorged themselves with honey and left. This is referred to as Absconding. Some causes of absconding would be; Loss of the queen, uncomfortable living condition, Weak colony that’s not able to fend for themselves food wise, pests. Insects such as ants or hive beetle overrunning the colony, wax moth, spiders etc, colony collapse disorder (CCD); this is characterized by sudden and unexplained disappearance of honey bees in the hive. Honey and pollen are usually present and sometimes a few young bees and the queen may remain behind. What to look out for during Inspection. Checklist: a.) Brood Box- 1.
