MY K-POP WIRE at live: Apink Brings Nostalgia and Joy to Singapore with “The Origin” Asia Tour
Singapore Pandas were treated to an unforgettable night as Apink returned to the Lion City for their “The Origin” Asia Tour on 4 April at Arena @ Expo. The concert marked a heartfelt reunion between the group and their fans, filled with nostalgia, laughter, and powerful performances.
Chorong opened the night with a meaningful reflection, sharing that Singapore was the destination of their very first overseas tour concert. Bomi followed with a warm message, expressing, “We’re so happy to be back. Thank you so much for supporting us, and we hope today will be a special day for all of us,” setting the tone for an evening rooted in appreciation and connection.
➤ A Journey Through Memories and Growth
The night took a nostalgic turn when the group performed “It Girl,” a track that brought them back to their high school days. Eunji reflected on how their younger selves embodied a cuter charm, while noting that they now perform the song with even greater confidence and charisma.
The setlist continued to weave between past and present, allowing fans to relive Apink’s musical journey while also experiencing their growth as artists.
➤ A Surprise “A-green” Transformation
One of the most memorable segments of the night came during the special “A-green” stage, where the members transformed into a boy group, surprising fans with a refreshing and playful concept.
The group delivered an energetic cover of “Mirotic” by TVXQ, alongside their fun track “Fizzy Soda.” The unexpected shift brought laughter and excitement across the venue, as fans embraced this lighthearted side of Apink.
Despite the playful transformation, the members jokingly reassured fans that they would always remain Pandas’ favourite as Apink, even asking the audience to choose between the two concepts—further highlighting their close and easy-going bond with fans.
➤ Moments That Strengthened the Bond
The connection between Apink and their fans was undeniable throughout the night. The members shared how they could hear fans laughing backstage during the VCR segments, especially during the memorable “Avatar” skit—where Hayoung impressed everyone with her acting despite never having watched the movie.
Their latest release, “Love Me More,” drew one of the loudest reactions of the night. Eunji playfully mentioned a “campaign” encouraging fans to bring more people to future concerts—jokingly suggesting one fan bring 30 friends or family members. She quickly reassured everyone not to feel pressured, emphasising the group’s sincere wish to continue performing for fans for many years to come.
➤ A Night Filled with Gratitude and Emotion
As the concert drew to a close, emotions ran high. Bomi shared her heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Time flew by so quickly… it wasn’t easy to have so much energy, but our Pandas gave us incredible energy from start to end.”
Chorong echoed the sentiment, expressing how meaningful it was to return with a new album and thanking fans for their unwavering support.
Namjoo also expressed her love for Singapore, highlighting the beautiful scenery, amazing food, and most importantly, the fans. “Every time I’m here, I get so excited… especially because of you, my lovely fans.”
Hayoung described the reunion as a “huge gift,” while Eunji reminisced about her previous birthday fan meeting in Singapore, praising fans for their enduring energy. “You’re still so lovely… your energy makes me feel like I can do 10 more songs,” she shared with a smile.
➤ A Celebration of Lasting Love
Ending on a hopeful note, the group promised to return with even better music and performances, encouraging fans to keep their passion alive.
For Singapore Pandas, the night was more than just a concert—it was a celebration of over a decade of memories, growth, and unwavering love between Apink and their fans.
