Work and Play are the Same

Mark Twain's argument, that work and play are the same thing in different circumstances, suggests that, in the end, work and play achieve the same thing for a person. The values placed on working and sports are similar. When you participate in a sport, you learn to work together with others, how to put in effort to reach a goal, you learn the values of winning and losing. The same can be said for work. Collaborating, humility, pride, are all values of work. The rewards gained from work and play may be different, but the end result is the same

Value of Sports

Sports... sports make me feel like an overall better person. Sports treat me to be a leader in life, cope with other and work hard. I live my life as a sport; everything I must do requires training or repirition, or even practice. These things help me to physically make myself a better person and be positive throughout all aspects in life.

Work vs Play

In the wise words of Mark Twain-"Work and play are used to describe the same thing under different conditions," this explains one of the many ideas that have different perspectives. Some thing that work and play are completely different. They're are different aspects of life that don't connect in either which way. But as for me and my opinion goes, I personally believe that what Twain is saying is true. Money, experience, the sensing of working in a community, the satisfaction- these are examples of values that are experienced in work. But who says that can't also be play? You can have fun and enjoy when you are working with friends. The same goes for every value. The only condition that you change is your attitude towards the job. The way the job is set up; the way it's conditions are; the way the environment are all indeed factors, but they're not the concluding idea. For example, you can work in a crappy place and you can have the worst boss and everything, but the way you view your work and the way that your attitude is shaped is the determining conclusion. Anyways this is my take on this subject. Any opinions?

Work and Play

The meanings of the words work and play can overlap. Sometimes work involves play, and sometimes play involves work. There are circumstances where the meanings and actions of the words don’t overlap each other at all. We define work and play by our enjoyment or pleasure towards the things that are required or desired in our lives. Where we place those values defines the way we live.

In my opinion, Work and play are two different things. Although they have similar and some of the same characteristics, i don't think they are the same. 

Work is something we have to do, like it or not, we depend on work, because that's how we get our money. Some people may like their jobs, what they work with, and that's good, but its still not playing. Working also requires more responsibility in most cases

Play is something we do for fun. We don't have do to it, we just do it for fun. Nothing depends on us playing, we don't gain money or anything but enjoyment and experience.

When it comes to sports, I think that they are not work, because I view work as something that our lives, or parts of our lives, depend on. Once sport becomes a career, that's when it becomes work, until then it's just play.

How do the values of work and sports affect the way we see ourselves and the way we live our lives?

Work and play can be the same thing if you’re doing a job you enjoy. For example, I grew up playing softball and if I got paid to coach a softball team I would love going to work and doing my job, but if I sat in an office and got told what to do everyday I might not be so happy to go to work. It all depends on your ENVIRONMENT.

 The values of work and sports both teach us valuable lessons we will carry with us through our lives. Being on a sports team has taught me to respect others thoughts and feelings and to work together to accomplish something. It has also humbled me and taught me that no matter what there is always room for improvement because some one is always better than you so you need to always work hard. And work or school for now has taught me to work hard so later in life I can have a good life by getting good grades and getting into a good college.

Value of Sports

I believe that Mark Twain's statement is coin toss. Yes, work and play are words that describe the same thing under differing conditions in certain situations. Work is work. Play is play. Work is the seriousness of things. Play is the relaxation or less seriousness of things. I play basketball for the school and work and play go hand and hand... sometimes. The work leads to play. You have to work to play. We work on fundamentals and plays to better ourselves and grow. Then when it's time to play in games you have to incorporate the work to enjoy playing. But there are days when things play can add up to being the work. Practices day or game days may me tough and in the end it doesn't turn out to be play.

The values of work and sports affecting the way we see ourselves and the way we live our lives

Work is on more serious level and with work there is a reward in the end. With playing we take things less serious and play for pleasure. In a way they are the same thing because you could play a sport as a job and it could be both but it all depends on the level you're at.
