The Nuremberg Laws became the start that led to the enslavement of German Jews. These laws excluded Jews from Reich citizenship and prohibited them from marrying or having sexual relations with persons of "German blood". These laws put one race below another, by defining what a Jew is and who the Jews are. This writing in law is what gave power to Nazi's, who had relatively unjustifiable reasoning to write the laws.

Sullivan Reaction

This quote made me think about if I am really acting myself. I don't know exactly what my true self actually is. I find myself more often then not imitating others in order for me to feel accepted by my peers. I definitely hide some of my true passions. I still havn't found the strength to completely be myself. It's mostly an act to be included with society

Unmarked

Being marked is like being unnatural. For men at least. Women who wear makeup are essentially marked. But then when women don’t wear makeup that could also make them unmarked. When men don't wear makeup that is the natural norm. Society can mark anyone and everyone. But what sets the standard?

Working

I work at Auburn Oaks Garden Nursery. It's a good job that pays well for my age. It is a physically demanding job, lifting and loading plants, watering, etc. One thing about my job is that there is a lot of down time. Since there is so much down time, I am usually assigned to do busy work like raking, cleaning, weeding, and re-stocking. While during this busy work I sometimes get bored. When I get bored a go on my phone, which is not allowed while on the job. Sometimes my boss likes to walk around. As I see my boss get closer I quickly put my phone away and look busy. Mostly because if I am caught slacking off i'll just get stuck doing even more odd jobs.

Challenge

So I originally decided to try and find a book on the limitations of society by going into Barnes and Nobles. I walked in and DEMANDED that they recommend a book to me that had the theme of the limitations of society. I ended up getting a book called Autobiography of a Face by Lucy Grealy. Unfortunately when I asked Kreinbring about the book he said it was a great book just not for my topic. Time to start the process over again.

 I went to Barnes and Nobles again after doing some research this time. I figured that knowledge and wisdom would be a topic found in more books than limitations of society. I was left with a decision between two novels, 1984 and Flowers for Algernon. It was a tough decision but I didn't have time to waste so I picked the cheapest one. I have a good feeling about this book and look forward to reading it.

I'm thinking of two abstract topics to write about. I want to do either Limitations of Society or Knowledge and Wisdom.

Values

Humans like violence. Most sports, especially on the professional level, require violence to keep their fan bases. Which in turn means that violence = money. Money is a reward, not only for the franchises, but also for the players Not all sports require violence and still manage to keep fans. Violence may or may not be necessary depending on the values of the person.

There is a line to the kind or violence people want to see. Take football for instance. Fans enjoy seeing big hits between players, but not all football fans are looking to see a gory bloodbath. Work and Play

The meanings of the words work and play can overlap. Sometimes work involves play, and sometimes play involves work. There are circumstances where the meanings and actions of the words don’t overlap each other at all. We define work and play by our enjoyment or pleasure towards the things that are required or desired in our lives. Where we place those values defines the way we live.

Flowers for Algernon

this book really makes the reader experience what it is like to be a mentally challenged adult. The author spells almost every single word wrong. It honestly has messed with my head, I will be writing a paper and struggle to remember how to spell simple words. I like the book, but this is going to be a long process.

High Art

Should Luxury Cars be High Art?

Well yea. 

Luxury cars should be high art because HIGH QUALITY, UNIQUE to their design, and PLEASING to the users SENSES.

A user wants to enjoy their car, not sit in a rust bucket that gets 2 miles to the gallon. High quality and unique designs should also be why  luxury cars should be considered high art because this is what makes them stand out from other vehicles.

There are many things in my bag : a star, old coins, a ticket showing a house divided, a bracelet still waiting to be given, coupons that will never be used, and a clutch that gives a new perspective on life

You didn’t comment on this photo, so I’m going to ask you a few questions. What about this appealed to you? And do you consider this to be high or low art?

I personally think this is a great work of art. I’ve just recently got accepted into a graphic design class, and Gestalt’s Principles of Art are not easy to apply to a design. Yet the artist was able to flawlessly put to use the law of proximity. This is a really brilliant, well thought-of, and nicely constructed advertisement for a Nike.

The photo appealed to me because it is associated with two of my favorite things; basketball and Nike. This ad by Nike is high art. The way that the artist was able to use different colored and shaped Nike symbols to create a bigger image is intriguing. This picture is all about perspective. When you zoom in you only observe the Nike swoosh. But when you zoom out you see an image of famous NBA player LeBron James. It's like how our class did the viewfinder activity. You see how all the details come together to form a big picture.

I believe that luxury cars are high art. They are directed towards certain audiences, that's why there are so many different brands out there. Each brand tries to set itself apart from the other making their cars unique. They're making these for the market of people who are willing to express their style through vehicles. Society also uses cars as a bases for someone's social class. If someone has a high end, luxurious car then society assumes that individual is higher in their social status. This also goes the other way. Society judges people based off their material belongings.

I just found this funny because it shows a stereotype. The stereotype being that women are always right no matter what.
