The Prophet & Alfyq Carmyqal came from another really long and vivid dream i had. dont look at me over alfyq's name that was literally his name in the dream and i cant fucking believe it either 😭 the dream's stuck with me because in the dream itself i was the prophet; i could tell i was dreaming but i couldnt wake up and i had no memory or knowledge of the world or myself outside of the dream and i came to the conclusion that the only way to wake up was to destroy the world. fun. fun times

maud came from a video game i was playing with my brother where i was roleplaying as a monk originally and then my character lost her skin. oops. things have snowballed insanely

bridge builder was a later development. the vague ideas for him were already laid down and then i started listening to hirasawa and everything catalyzed. now his name is a hirasawa reference 😭 bridge builder (song) and eight (H for Hirasawa. H is the eight letter in the roman alphabet. sighhh)

the lord of ways/the dreamer was an even LATER development but not too much later than bridge builder... the first one to come along was the dreamer half, as the waking-life, 'ordinary' foil to maud with bridge builder betwixt them. later on through the mental gymnastics of the apocalypse cycle he became the lord of ways and then recently i transed his gender she's a woman now

the Prophet & Alfyq basically came out fully formed i havent really changed anything since that dream.

maud took a good ? year or so to reach her current and probably final form. she didnt really go through a lot of dramatic change though, it was just slow evolution. same with bridge builder

dreamer/lord of ways i only recently overhauled her gender but i think now she's basically finished lol

i usually dont think about it but a theoretical end to the apocalypse cycle would have to be a gentle end by nature because thats the only way these motherfuckers will sctually dissipate in peace

21 + 23 for bridge builder eight?

21. the cabin in the mountains with Cuyail was probably the single happiest and most comfortable time in its entire existence, even with the horrors of learning to be a solid concept instead of a dream, so if anything earns the title of its favorite place its probably that little house in those mountains.

23. oddly i havent given a lot of thought to the sound of its voice but i imagine it with a voice that's as close to bird's as such a big creature can have, but a little bit softer and quiet. it can sing also and likes to 🫶
