(Jinmay anon) my 1920s Jinmay is a lot like what you said; about providing housing for those needing protecting yes, to all of that her “skin” has lost the ability to look human so she wears heavy make up and is rough and gritty but can still ooze this air of sophistication in the proper settings. And yes she and Chiro fight and bicker and the monkeys are in the corner feeling awkward cuz they can see both sides of the situation
“Jimmay anon” she is kind of a mob boss. But don’t let her think you think that. I mean she has a casino in there for a reason and it’s a fancy joint but there is some underlying stuff going on in the background that she must tolerate to keep things in order. When asked by the team why she let the robot become such a (al be it well run) mad house she replies “sometimes to keep the right people out you gonna let the wrong people in”
okay, 1) i would like to hear more about this 1920s AU you speak of???
BUT YES I LOVE THIS. mob boss Jinmay is amazing. reminds me of the headcanon/theory/AU floating around somewhere (I’ll go find it tomorrow, I think) where Jinmay was an assassin before she lost her memories. which. i really, really dig.
that little quote there??? perfect. such a good line and SO TRUE in those types of settings :o and in reality too, sometimes.
I like the idea of her wearing heavy make up (or even masks) but I also like the idea of her embracing her inhumanness. i feel like she would switch between the two based on situation!
poor monkeys :( i feel like they would end up taking Chiro’s side a little more because he’s their boy but there would be this undercurrent of tension because that could be them some day. especially for Antauri :o
