Watched the first episode of Star City and I enjoyed it. I think the casting for Sergei was spot on at least from the brief moment we saw.
I’ve really only become interested in Irina since For All Mankind season 5. Still very much not a fan after she destroyed Margo and Sergei, however I am curious about her origin story.
Interesting that they chose Fra Mauro for the landing site of Luna 16 though. That was the original landing site for Apollo 13 IRL.
just rewatched Apollo 13 for the millionth time and suddenly realized the final line "When will we be going back? And who will that be?" has an ANSWER now!
Have you played this pinball?
Apollo 13 (Sega, 1995)
Yes
No
No, but I've heard of it
Fun Facts: Apollo 13 corporates a 13-ball multiball, the most of any existing pinball.
Tom Hanks did not give permission for his image to appear in the game, so artists "included" him in the backglass as the suited astronaut.
Got emotional about Apollo 13
something about the ‘cursed’ mission being the one that made it back home. Where every single thing went wrong and yet, in the end, everything was alright.
A type of blessing i think we all need in these current times.
Video description: tiktok edit of the movie Apollo 13.
Audio: no dialogue or sound effects, just music--kinda peppy music, seems like a good choice for this edit.
Flash Alert: Mild flashing at some points in video
Marilyn Lovell, Jim Lovell’s wife, Lost Moon
Watching Apollo 13 for the first time the other day and realizing that when Life 2017 played the song Spirit In The Sky in the end credits it was an homage to Apollo 13.
It also works for the movie because there's the metaphor of the Station crew as a cult or high control group and it's a cheerful upbeat song all about dying and they do a lot of that in that movie.
Also realizing The Martian is quoting Apollo 13 with the line about "steely-eyed missle man."
