apollo’s main thing is that he’s obsessed with money yeah, he’s found meaning in the pursuit of capital, even when you’ve got some crazy shit going on he centers his mind and soothes himself by saying “dude we can make so much money off this” so i think the fact that once you’ve decided to work together his first instinct being to start gifting you technology you can use to survive and setting you up with a base and researchers is really sweet and says a lot about his character. once he sees you as a part of his life he starts seeing the same scared and lonely person he used to be, and may very well still be, and immediately he tries to make you less scared by sending you technology and less lonely by telling you to live with people. he sees you going through what he went through and immediately starts handing you the tools he uses to cope. despite his “greed” he’s a deeply empathetic person who wants you to feel safe because he wants to feel safe too.
