More Monster Hunter x Rainbow High! This time with Nergigante! I also had to doodle them with Pacific Coast's Phaedra, because it was her swimsuit that first made me think of monhun and rainbow high in the same context- I thought her swimsuit looked like the colorful underside of a Nergigante's hide! As Nergigante itself is genderless, I decided it'd be fun to design a nonbinary doll. Because it constantly sheds and regrows its spikes, I thought it might be fitting to give them some kind of skin condition, and settled on plaque psoriasis. Once again, the original monster is under the cut.

I wasn't originally planning to do any dragons, but I made an exception for Nergigante. The dark colors with the bits of bright orange and purple were a fun color palette to work with! Ultimately couldn't add quite as many spikes as I planned, but I'm satisfied with the design regardless :)

My doll enthusiast friend recently introduced me to Rainbow High and i really really like their style.. Particularly the strong sense of theme and color the dolls have, which reminded me of something else whose designs have those same strengths: Monster Hunter. So I've been drawing a bunch of my favorite monsters as Rainbow High dolls and having the time of my life. Starting off with a pair of slip and slidey monsters, Mizutsune and Lagombi! I'll include images of the actual monsters under the cut vvv

Mizu felt like a good opportunity to make a fashionable boy doll, and Lagombi was one of the first monsters I ended up doing, because its fun mix of arctic animals seemed like a great theme for me to work with!

i used to think that paolumu ate monster eggs, and i loved to imagine it would swallow them whole like a snake. fortunately, it was only after i already drew this that i found out that all the round pink stuff floating around in the highlands are the actual eggs it eats.

recently learned that female rabbits have something called a dewlap, and its a big flap of skin beneath their neck. and im delighted. heres lagombi with a dewlap and some lagombabys
