Apollo modeling the Gaelic Rose chainmaille necklace by Rebeca Mojica. If you make chainmaille, here’s a blog post with ring sizes and a weave diagram - http://www.bluebuddhaboutique.com/blog/2015/05/gaelic-rose-necklace-chainmaille-variation/
What about SF: IV/SFxT makes you dislike them so much? (Also curious about your opinion of UMVC3)
a lot of things
this means a long answer that took me forever to type because I get sidetracked a lot so
the new characters for SFIV were hit and miss in my opinion: Juri outright pisses me off, Hakan was a sorta neat concept that didn't really go anywhere, Rufus and Abel were actually kinda cool, El Fuerte was meh, and so on
then there's Seth
instead of basing more moves around the Tanden Engine they went the Megaman route
the fact that he's annoying-by-design doesn't really help, though I get that so it doesn't factor in that much
basically he's kinda like Hakan to me: a concept that's good on paper but turned out Extremely Lame
Super Street Fighter IV basically threw in several characters from SSFII Turbo and SFIII
while I don't take that much issue with it (mostly issues with exactly which ones could've gone in, which amounts to a Personal Problem), some of the SFIII characters lost a bit of their polish, Dudley and his rose taunt for example
that brings me to another thing: the 3D animation and the "cinematic elements"
this post here kinda highlights how completely useless the Constantly Shifting Camera is for the moves
Arcade Edition really ground my gears; it's basically a patched version of SSFIV with some DLC added (okay cool I guess)
the DLC comes in the form of 4 characters:
Yun and Yang Lee; the SFIV style doesn't do them complete justice
Evil Ryu, basically an Akuma clone; my beef with that is less his design (which makes sense) and more the fact that they're basically adding in Another Shoto User, which brings me to
Oni. Fucking Oni.
another goddamn shoto user and a Gouken remodel to boot
the remodeling thing was done in both games (see Abel, Seth and Tekken's Ogre), and only makes sense in the case of Seth and Abel
not to mention they could've possibly made Urien or something with Seth's model instead but that comes across as Another Personal Problem to me
Arcade Edition also ramped up the Unnecessary Moving Camera; basically mad flash but not much substance
Street Fighter X Tekken is basically more of the same except even worse
in addition to the whole "modern fighter syndrome" bit I mentioned a few posts earlier, there's more needless flash, more dumb camera angles, and more cruddy character choice
Cole McGrath = meh
Juri; I was following the whole thing when it was first announced and as they revealed more characters, partly because I was helping out the SFWiki (which I admin) and partly because I was Actually Interested. when they announced Juri I all but quit
Mega Man sounded cool at first and then it turns out they used the Bad Box Art version which threw me right the fuck off; his moveset used the Thunder Beam and Ice Slasher from MM1, which inclined me to think that so much more could've been done
Pac-Man. No.
the Gem System is also the absolute worst idea anyone has ever had
wanting to attract newer players is one thing, but on the other hand you don't become a pro Street Fighter player without a lot of fucking practice, and if you want to pull them in, you shouldn't resort to easily exploited hand-holding methods (I mean Easy Input Gems??? come the FUCK on)
and then there's Paying For Downloadable Content
paying money for tiny shit like extra characters and costumes are a quick way to get me frothing at the mouth, because unlocking is still a thing
the fact they were still on the disc made me want to choke someone
AS FOR UMvC3
More Modern Fighter Syndrome
somewhat baffling character choices; two wolverines made little sense, wolverine and x-23 make slightly less sense than that
Hulk's voice sounds more like the typical Dumb Giant which is a relatively minor step back by itself
I found Deadpool kinda funny at first but the Plethora of Internet References wears on my nerves now
I actually lose track of how many characters there are
the comic book feel they went for didn't really gel
I think it tries a little TOO hard to be Wacky and Over the Top but that might just be me
the game has balancing issues, I've seen a 3-character team wiped in 7 seconds, not to mention infinite combos
infinite combos in general need to just die, if I'm going to lose, I want to have a chance to fight back; it's not fun losing to a gimmicky "touch of death" deal that should've been patched as opposed to simply getting beaten by someone better than you
