the sketch for the latest update of apostatizare + the version before I painted on the blood because i liked my hatching but the blood ate it
we’re doing apostatizare traditionally now with sumi ink & a steel nib now because tbh dip pens are just superior!
process + closeup of the icon for @apostatizare
sorting through my folders, found a file w some remarkably clean-cut layers. have this while i finish figuring out where the heck i left things
also here are some @apostatizare thumbs where I reveal i do not know how perspective works
i am addicted to comic thumbnails and allergic to finished comic pages

Kevin cleared his throat as the white apartment door he had knocked on finally opened. “Hello, sir!” He greeted the teenager with zeal.
“I’m Elder Price of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Can you spare a moment to talk about Jesus?”

Lips curled around bloodied fingers licking them clean. Bitter, but not terrible tasting. The girl continued to lap at her hands until all the red was gone from sight. It was her first time with the chance to enjoy herself to her full extend, since she entered the city. The times she had been here... It was an exciting treat, even if she would much rather be home ripping the innocence from those shitty exorcists, or fawning over her beloved Allen. Besides, she had a lot of payback to get, especially when it came to that twisted innocence creature that had broken her dream like it was nothing.
Eyes lifted to the sky watching the other city with interest. One little door, and she could be right over there, taking in everything the other city had to offer. One little trip and she would be in the heart of enemy territory. But then again, she could always have her fun in this city as well. Candles tearing into the limbs of whoever seemed the most fun to her. That sounded enjoyable too! Decisions decisions... Eyes continued to examine the city, almost lost in thought. It seemed like a child fascinated by the unnatural appearance. Not once did she allow the blood lust to seep outward, instead it was kept safely in her mind. The thoughts avoid showing on her face.
Footsteps were what drew her out of the thoughts, eyes narrowed as though she sensed danger approaching. The air felt off, or maybe she was just imagining it... A candle appeared in front of her, hidden from view of the approaching stranger. Steps continued to draw closer. The girl twisted on her heel, the floating candle darting past her towards the face of the person who interrupted her delicious thoughts.
The moment she saw that face she froze. The candle stopped inches from his face. Breath caught in her throat, and eyes had grown wide at the sight. "Nea..." The voice sounded much meeker, surprise written all over her expression. Why... Was he here...? The expression was caught somewhere between surprise, hate, and delight. He was back... In his own body he stood before her... Everything she wanted to say when she saw him was lost from her mind. The candle faltered, shaking in front of his face before falling to the ground.

— [ ❖ ] — A hand lifts up a moldy little thing, pages nearly crumbling in his fingers. The book, a product of Epsilon, wastes the rest of its meager lifespan in the scientist's hands. An incredible amount of disappointment rises from his chest as yet another piece of priceless literature wastes away.
❝Ah, well, just what I'd expect. Urgh, they couldn't have managed to keep these books in decent condition!?❞
