Still, she chose to be flattered by it. “I’m pleased your delirium chose me above anyone else. I might have gotten jealous.”
There wasn’t much she could do about the limited range Maleficent had to move about at sea. Even the small storage room normally used for spare odds and ends had been a stretch to set up, every bit of space needed.
Fortunately the men weren’t complaining too much with a bit of a bonus lining their pockets and the promise of more for it when the job was done.
Her eyebrows rose in curiosity. “No,” she quickly said, not wanting this opportunity to pass her by. Then, thinking better of it, she conceded. “Perhaps a little. But they’re aware you aren’t exactly human so it will be more of a startled fear rather than a rally for pitchforks and torches.”
She hummed in thought. “Is it something you need people below deck for? Because we need at least two to keep her sailing.”
