You are all the epitome of the special snowflake movement. You're all double-decker couches. Seriously Instagram? You think it will be easier for me to see all the posts my friends have done if you mix up the order they get posted in, so the last photo I saw last night will not be the photo I look for to know I haven't missed any posts? How is that not a simple idea? Did the person that have this idea also have the idea for Picked For You over at Pinterest? Son, I am disappoint.

Hello World always seems appropriate when introducing a new digital being into the world. Black Suede Digital isn’t going to just say Hello World, we’re going to SHOUT it. We’re going to make sure we’re heard and that the world will see us coming and say, what’s up. It’s also difficult to talk abstractly about digital creatures as they enter into the app world. We all use apps and lest we forget that like us, they too have a process. That’s what this blog is about.

We will be giving you weekly updates on how our apps are going and posting it on our official website as well as our official Tumblr page. This week I’m updating to simply say hello and that being a start up can be difficult. Not everything goes your way, as it shouldn’t, and you need to suck it up, make some edits and make sure everything is looking good or at least sounds good. The point is to have a plan, even if that plan is to make a to-do list.

That to-do list can start anywhere. Starting the list can be hard though and you may need to distract yourself. An old writing technique starts off with getting any page of anything, whether it’s a newspaper just hanging around, a press release or even an overly long Facebook status. Start writing it out and then when you start to change things or want to start adjusting things, that’s when you start your planning. The point is to keep doing what you’re doing. If you’re making apps, start writing code or start designing your favourite character or start working on the menu of something else and before you know it, you’ll be making or designing your own app.

Making apps is not a perfect art, nor has it ever been called and artform, but there is definitely a culturally significant, creative and collaborative side to it. It’s something you put on an app store and share with the world. You sit back and wait to see the reaction, see where you can help. See what is necessary to make sure things go smoothly and then put a plan into effect. Right now, we’re just getting things together and our first app will be launching in November, but for now, we still say HELLO WORLD and hope we can bring you something helpful, social, unique, fun, interesting and you’ll be there to say hello back and enjoy our apps.
