I was massively honored on Tuesday night to be awarded the 2018 AIPP Australian Album of the Year. This is the second year in a row that I’ve received this award which is pretty cool. Importantly I would like to thank Navishka & Staffan (and ALL my couples) for entrusting me with the most important task of photographing their wedding story. This is a gift that I never take for granted regardless of if I am shooting in Melbourne or Kenya. The human connections that I experience in this line of work I hold very dear. It’s those connections that encourage me to push myself and strive to be better to tell the most beautiful, creative and powerful stories I possibly can for my couples. I want to remind them (and whoever else see’s my stuff) that love in all its forms is a magical thing that transcends all else in life. How often we can all forget that. I’m not saving lives or anything like that, but in a world where it is hard at times to not be consumed the bad, I hope in what I give of myself in my photos I can make it just a little bit better. I’ll post some pics at some stage of the album in all it’s zebra-skinned glory, but for now, you can swing by the blog to check out Navishka & Saffan’s story. It is also going to be published by my dear friends and @hellomay. Thanks again to everyone involved in putting this album together and massive high fives to all the other winners, finalists and award winners. #appa2018 (at Nairobi, Kenya) https://www.instagram.com/p/BnI9pISHOW3/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=mfk6rim5aftx
