“I– What?” Jumi definitely was embarrassed to be caught practicing her English inside of the small and almost empty bar, especially at such an hour. Heat instantaneously rushed to her cheeks which she attempted to cover up with the palms of her hands that currently felt a little too clammy. “Yah–! You try speaking English. It’s a lot harder than it looks.” Her voice sounded pitchy even to her own ears, making her internally cringe. Lowering her hands towards her untouched drink, Jumi’s gaze settled on the books scattered in front of her on the table. A groan of irritation bubbled up from the back of her throat as she halfheartedly tossed the notebook away from her. “I think that I might just lose my mind before I get the pronunciation correct.”
