Day 2: One of my great loves are comics, specifically The X-men and most importantly today’s appreciation; the character Storm. I remember the first time I saw Storm was in the animated 90’s cartoon. I had never seen a black super hero before. She not only welded great power, but she was strong, wise, caring, commanding, and was fierce. I was in awe. I’m thankful for her being a positive image of blackness and woman hood in the world of comics and for giving black nerds a hero to stan for. She shows there is a space for POC in comics and that stereotypes don’t have to be followed to be popular. . . . It's been a year since I've started up Skinful Threads! 🎉 As simple as opening up an online shop on my own made me realize what I was capable of. It's my baby.
