"Apple News" - iPad 3 coming in February!
If you were planning on purchasing the "iPad 2" this holiday season, you might as well reconsider and wait just a bit longer...
Apparently a few Apple analysts have been claiming that the technologycally innovative company have been working with the next generation "iPad" which will come with the "A6 processor" and a brand new, highly anticipated, "Retina Display" which was previously introduced on the iPhone 4. The analysts also claim that the new generation "iPad 3" will have double the screen resolution of the original "iPad" and "iPad2", which display technology wasn't changed.
The screen resolution will go from 1024 x 768 to 2048 x 1536, which is a great win for Apple since they've been having troubles getting the "Retina Display" to work in higher resolution than the "iPhone 4's" display.
Even with the almost confirmed launch date of the "iPad 3" in February, conflicting reports have been coming up as some sources speculate that the release date can be pushed back regarding some problems "Apple's" having with the "A6 processor", a new Quad-Core processor (a lot faster than the current Dual-Core "A5 processor" that comes with the "iPad 2" and "iPhone 4s") that will be implemented in the upcoming "Apple" products.
More recent reports claim that the "iPad 3" will still be launched in February.
Chris Maymi's Opinions
I was actually a bit surprise to hear that the next generation "iPad 3" was coming in February since the current generation "iPad 2" was introduced in March 2011 and for me it seems a little bit to soon. But then again, "Apple" is a company recognized for it's yearly renovations of their products, not to mention that the "iPad 2" was kind of an update of the "iPad 1" in order to get it running equally with the new generation "iPod touch" and the "iPhone 4" & "iPhone 4s".
As far as I've seen, it sounds pretty good. I like the idea that "Apple" will introduce the "A6 processor", which will be a huge advantage for developers as the "iPad" will have the ability to generate better graphics and performance and you will get a faster and smoother experience.
The screen resolution is actually big news since they've been working very hard the past year and a half to get the "Retina Display" on the "iPad". The fact that the "iPad 3" will come with a 2048 x 1536 screen resolution is actually pretty surprising for a "Retina Display" which will be the biggest display ever, to come with this technology. The kind of annoying news about this is that developers will have to create their apps in two different resolutions for the "iPad" and this can be a pain for them at first. But this is something that had to be done.
* For people planning to purchase the "iPad 2" this holiday season, I highly recommend waiting a bit longer so you can get your hands on the brand new "iPad 3". I don't doubt that "Apple" will release this product between February and March of 2012 since this is their usual release date for the new generation "iPad's".
