Apple’s Next Beta Cycle Started
Apple has released the first developer betas for iOS 26.6, macOS Tahoe 26.6, and the rest of its current software lineup as WWDC and the reveal of iOS 27 get closer. The updates arrived pretty quickly after the public rollout of version 26.5, which mostly focused on fixes and smaller improvements rather than major new features.
Right now, the new betas seem more like maintenance updates than anything dramatic. Developers are digging through the builds, but most attention is already shifting toward WWDC, where Apple is expected to preview the next generation of iPhone, iPad, and Mac software. A lot of the speculation is centered around Apple Intelligence features and whether Siri finally gets the bigger overhaul people have been waiting for.
Apple has also been continuing its newer “Liquid Glass” design direction across iOS 26 and macOS Tahoe, which has been one of the more noticeable visual changes in recent updates. The current beta cycle mostly feels like the calm stretch before Apple starts showing off the bigger stuff in June.
My Thoughts: Every year there’s this funny period where Apple releases a bunch of tiny beta updates while everyone pretends not to already be waiting for the next WWDC keynote instead.
