made a new friend today
I've been trying to fix up a pair of iPod Shuffles (both 2nd gen) all day now and after searching through forums I've decided to shout to tumblr for any help with apple product garbage. I am trying to restore them so I can charge and play music on them. Here's the scenario, under the cut.
The two iPods (from now on referred to as Green and Blue) both have the green-orange-orange or green-orange-green-orange blinking lights when powered on and you click the play button. I have attempted to follow the steps to restore them through iTunes multiple times. Green is able to be detected as an (E:) device on my laptop and blinks orange while on the charging port, so it can hold a charge. I can go through the files, and at the start of the day I cleared out the audio files that were on it- very funny to see what 11 year old me was listening too. From here I've attempted to restore on iTunes, ejected it, and tried to play a file I put on it into F00. I still get the green-orange-orange blinking. From here I've done research and used FAT32 in attempt to reset the files, as a replacement for the 32-bit iPod cleaner Apple had supplied when this issue first arose. I then restored through iTunes. Everything in the files looks Fine. I've tried setting Green to disc mode, and still it flashes the restore sequence lights.
Blue is more difficult and an iPod I didn't own myself, so I don't know its history (it was given to me with the charging cable from a family friend). With Blue, it similarly flashes the green-orange-orange light when powered on. I believe it can hold a charge, but I'm not 100% certain. When on the port, it briefly blinks a yellow light before stopping, or no light appears at all. While the port is plugged into a port to charge it, it stays yellow. The device isn't detected on my laptop either, so I'm unable to run a restore or FAT32 on it.
I swear I have gone through what feels like every forum and apple support page so tumblrs my last cry on this mini project. I should've just worked on cleaning the oxidization on my wii remotes instead..
girl help i’m trying to ask siri to call my sister but she keeps saying “i can’t. she’s dead.”
Having focus issues with my iPhone likely do to a corrupt backup, so the issue had to be escalated to a senior advisor. I had two grown adults calling me Danger because that is the name my contact info is stored under in my phone.
😁
I’m on apple support with some poor guy named Clyde and I would just like to personally apologize for how technologically inept I am
I was on Apple support and all I can think about is how this guy looks like Jared in 10 years.
