Hinata was so excited to go on his adventure when he finally came of age to receive his first Pokemon. His sights were set high on becoming the Champ of the Kalos region and snatching that title from Ushijima! His starter was the fire type Fennekin!

Hinata never knew Kenma before he went on his journey, they’d grown up in different towns so they’d hardly had a chance of actually meeting. So Hinata thought his battle with Kenma was just going to be a normal one where he’d win with those handful of Pokemon he’s been training. In the end Kenma won.

Kenma was a trainer with a pair of Espurr who were a lot stronger than he thought they were. Hinata was ecstatic to meet a strong trainer when the others he’d met so far hadn’t gave him an adequate challenge. He may have crowded him a bit with a lot of questions and excitement after the battle ended.

Kenma held no aspirations to take on the champ like Hinata so after a few days together and an exchange of numbers they went their separate ways.

However, Hinata always stayed in touch as he always updated Kenma when he one a new gym battle and when he finally beat Ushijima and took his title. Kenma on the other hand wasn’t even in the same region anymore.

In the end I can see Hinata retaining the title of champ for a while before having him being beaten and losing the title, Kenma on the other hand I can see wandering and learning about Pokemon instead of trying for any Champ positions.

It was tough not attending the same college as Kenma, sure he really liked Enyo and he had a scholarship there, but his friend attended classes at Oakville. He’d trudged through the campus a few times before when coming to seek him out, but it always felt like people were staring at him. Like they knew he didn’t attend classes at their school. So he tried to keep his head down a bit, to keep the eyes off of him, but it was hard to contain how ecstatic he was to get to visit with Kenma. He’d rarely seen him since he’d come to the city as his job, school work, and practice kept him busy most of the time. They’d kept touch through text messages as usual, updating each other and everything it just wasn’t the same as it had been back in high-school not with knowing he was close enough for Hinata to just drop in and tell him everything face to face.

The campus was much different than Enyo’s and before Hinata could take it all in again for like the hundredth time he caught sight of Kenma.
