This Simple Puff Pastry Apple Tart is a delightful alternative to traditional apple pie. Using store-bought puff pastry makes it quick and easy to prepare, while still delivering the delicious flavors of cinnamon-spiced apples. It's perfect for any occasion and sure to impress!
Ingredients: 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed. 2-3 medium-sized apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced. 2 tablespoons granulated sugar. 1 tablespoon lemon juice. 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon. 1 egg, beaten for egg wash. Powdered sugar, for dusting optional.
Instructions: Warm the oven up to 190C 375F. Take some flour and roll out the puff pastry into a rectangle that's about 10 inches by 14 inches. Place the dough on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Lay the apple slices on top of the pastry in rows that overlap, leaving about an inch of space around the edges. Put sugar, lemon juice, and ground cinnamon on top of the apples. To make a border, fold the edges of the pastry over the apples. Beat an egg and brush it around the edges of the pastry to make them golden. Put it in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the apples are soft and the pastry is golden brown. Let it cool down a bit before cutting. Add powdered sugar on top if you like. You can serve it hot or cold.
