Another piece from last year ApplePuddlePaws only with Actor AU! They are taking a smoke break after a movie or a photo session… (it was a gift for @doodleclownbunny hope they don’t mind if I share here.)

MEANWHILE— this was a Wip from last year too but I decided to finally render it and finally add in Wally. I feel like Franny would be a Femme Fatale and Wally would love to wear fancy dresses with her in photo shoots.

Rainy.

Franny leans her head against Home’s window, listening to their soft creaks and taps that blend with the occasional distant rumble of thunder.

Her eyebrows, which usually stay close together, are loose, relaxed. Her mouth is a loose line instead of a frown, and her hands lay against her arms instead of gripping them.

She has a light grip on her boyfriend’s vest, which he insisted she wear for the duration of the rain, which hasn’t even reached the neighborhood yet, as he has some spares. It lays atop her shoulders, since she can’t put it on, it doesn’t fit. Far too small, but it’s the thought that counts.

Her mind wanders to when she was little, running through the rain with her brother and sisters as the lightning shook the ground before they could hear it. Her eyebrows press back together as her mouth turns down.

She sighs softly, her breath slightly fogging the glass and catching the attention of her spouses.

“What’s got ya so blue, Franny?”

“She’s always been blue, Barnaby!”

Franny affectionately shakes her head as Barnaby chuckles at Wally’s comment. “I’m fine,” she says, “I’m just watching the rain.” She runs her thumb along the fabric, watching the sky darken as the clouds slowly come closer towards Home.

Barnaby walks over, bending over and glancing up at the sky. “Hey Walls,” Barnaby turns his head mischievously and raises his eyebrow, “do ya still have those

raincoats?”

After reassuring Home that they’d be fine!to leave, Barnaby, Franny, and Wally stand in Home’s yard with their raincoats loosely covering their frames and boots covering their feet (or paws) as they watch the sky darken more, with Franny perking up at the sound of the rain outside suddenly hitting Home’s roof.

Home opens their door, letting the group sprint outside, creaking happily at the sound and sight of their delight. Barnaby’s barking, Wally’s little footsteps chasing after the dog, and Franny’s mouth slightly tilting up as she lifts up the smallest, placing him on her shoulders as he laughs.

Barnaby sprints towards them on all fours, standing and lifting them both up as he spins around, causing all three to laugh as the rain tries to drown them out. Barnaby and Wally feel their hearts skip at the rare, lovely sound of their girlfriend’s laughter, audible even over the rain.

Barnaby slips, sending them tumbling down Home’s Hill, laughing as they hit a puddle at the bottom, covered heads-to-toes in water as the wind picks up speed, drowning out their whoops and cheers as they sprint around, jumping into puddles and twirling around in the whirling rain. Wally and Franny’s hair runs free, wild and messy but they do not mind, Barnaby’s fur feels heavy but he pays it no mind, choosing to enjoy the rain with his bluefriends.

Lightning strikes, lighting the neighborhood and catching the trio’s attention as the sky illuminates before thunder rumbles, causing all three to share a look. Barnaby gets on all fours, walking over and letting his spouses climb onto his back as he walks back towards Home, content and happy smiles on everyone’s faces.

Later, after everyone has washed up and dried off, the trio cuddle up together in a pillow fort they made, listening to the rain and thunder above as Home clicks off the lights.

“That was fun.”

Barnaby and Franny smile, with the former patting Wally on the head gently with his paw.

“Sure was buddy.”

He turns to Franny, who has her cheek pressed to his chest, and pokes her nose. “Did you have fun, my dear grouchy Franny?”

The girl scoffs, taking his paw in her hand and softly pushing it away before pulling Wally into her arms and snuggling closer to Barnaby.

“I did. Thank you.”

Barnaby’s warm chuckle follows before he gives the other two a soft kiss on their foreheads, which they return with kisses on his cheeks.

The three fall asleep shortly after, listening to the storm that continues to swirl and dance outside.

I wanted to design their outfits so that they all matched in a way. Franny has stripped sleeves to match Wally's pants and Barn's vest and touch up on Wally's and Barn's outfits to match more with Franny.
