Did You Know❓ Apple Announces Replacement Program For Faulty AirPods Pro Units. Apple has announced that it is aware of "sound issues" on some AirPods Pro, so it has launched a free service program to replace faulty earphones. On a support page created Friday, the company said that a “small percentage” of consumers have experienced crackling or static sounds while using their earphones or have found that they offer ineffective active noise-cancellation. Enriching Lives
Anyone still trying to instill some purpose in their day to day activity at Apple Retail with this little chestnut? Enriching lives? What might that entail? Consider: Apple Retail is a store. A store that sells expensive, high end electronic goods to middle and upper class society. It stands to argue that anyone who comes in to buy an iPhone, whether it's their first or their fifteenth, whether they're buying it outright or financing, lead pretty en-rich-ed lives already. It's not like we're Habitat for Fucking Humanity assembling grass huts, or Sally Goddamn Struthers trying to weasel sixty cents a day out of daytime television watchers to feed a bunch of fly covered African kids their daily dollop of flour and water. This is not to make light of those situations, but to point out the inherent flaw of trying to sell luxury devices and have it come off as some kind of humanitarian effort. It isn't. Insomuch as an Apple product or an app can enrich a life, it ultimately comes down to a cost. That cost is absolutely monetary, and arguably spiritual, as any given day in the Product Zone or Family Room (or Avenue; do they have those in the ghetto?) becomes a garage sale of the soul. Personally, I don't have too much of a problem with a company trying to sell luxury devices, so long as their supply chain is environmentally conscious and responsible. But this idea that selling luxury devices is enriching lives is a crude and clumsy rationalization that sours my stomach every time I hear it uttered in a download. Sent From My iPhone

Anyone who can follow the Anon crowd without shaking their head still write in these? At the outset, this seemed like a good if not entirely unclear and vague tool for creating a roadmap to success within Apple Retail and beyond. However, since its inception, it has become more and more clear that the Exchange Journal marks the dividing line between thinkers and drinkers, once Apple has set a fresh pitcher of Kool Aid on the table. For those who have fallen from grace, the EJ comes across like a written confession in the hands of the world's most vindictive district attorney, and for those still "growing" in the non-light of Apple's mushroom farm. And if you're not familiar with mushroom farms, the chief prerogative there, in terms of quality product, is to feed them shit and keep them in the dark. If you're unclear on whether you're part of the thinker group or the drinker group, think back to the last time you were told or encouraged to complete an EJ entry. If it's been more than a month, chances are, you wouldn't have five stars next to your name on a manager's iTunes playlist of Employee Favorites. While you may still be in their good graces, you're not exactly a platter that matters. If you ask for time to complete an EJ and are declined, then not only would it seem that your growth is not important, but that it has become important that you NOT grow at all. I'd argue you should watch your back, and no matter where you stand, always know who your enemies are. This may sound paranoid, and maybe it is, but Apple Retail is a game, and EJ is a cycle of play that comes somewhere shortly after rolling the dice, but before your discard phase. If you need this job, it is imperative that you play the game wisely, even if you don't care about winning.

My experience as an Apple employee on Black Friday was honestly no weirder or more insane than a normal Friday, because my company values our contribution. Our SVP of retail, Angela Ahrendt, is quoted as saying "Being good to your employees will always be good for business." On Black Friday, I'm grateful for my employer's priorities. If there's one retail company to work for, it's this one.
