That is, until now.
Over the past few years, crazy things have happened. Aliens flying through the streets of New York, chased by none other than Iron Man himself. Masked men shooting rocket launchers in mid day, ignoring all presence of armed forces. Gods, creatures with weapons beyond human capability. Whole cities being raised into the air, miles above land.
But in that need, there are those who have risen to the occasion.
New members have been added to that team through rigorous training, they spent this time proving their worth and falling into place to form a cohesive offence to danger around the globe.
SHIELD might be in ruins, but that hardly has stopped our scattered heroes.
