Now, about your character!
Nation: Switzerland
Human or Monster: Monster
If Monster, what Monster?: Fairy/Fae/Fey (likely a subclass depending on which lore makes sense after some research)
Do you have any rough ideas for them yet? Occupation, Looks?*:
Occupation would probably be something relating to the woods. Maybe a gardener, cleaner, or Librarian. He could even work at a diner! My favourite idea is that he’s an exasperated and v morbid english teacher.
Looks would depend on which lore I chose to go by, but there will likely involve a killer fashion sense, and likely some sweaters at times. I’ll probably go for a more etherial look so definitely something on the cozier side of things.
Where do you think they would lean? (Monsters > Humans, Humans > Monsters Humans = Monsters, Doesn’t give a fuck)*: He honestly likely wouldn’t talk about it much, but he’s very much Humans = Monsters but likes flipping to the opposite of someone else’s opinions if they chose to argue with him.
What Kind of Blog will it be? Art? Written? Cosplay?: Likely Art and Written. Depending on which medium I can access at the given time.
Please send an example or two of whatever you plan to make your blog off of, if it is cosplay, send a few of your cosplays, writing send a few excerpts of text of what I would expect you to answer an ask or explain a characters background with and for art blogs just pictures of your art/art style~
When the fighting ceased, Matthew was still hiding in the hold, barely breathing as his mind raced. Who had won? If the pirates won, would they search here? It’s only a matter of time… He was lost in thought when Kumajiro hopped out of his arms and rounded the corner. He mentally cursed himself, Merde, how could I not hear footsteps?! The Frenchman heard the now recognizable footsteps stop a few feet away and some words being said before they trailed off as he quietly reached an arm out and tried to beckon Kumajiro back. Maybe they’ll spare Kuma if I show them that he’s friendly- His thought process was cut off as a voice echoed through the cabin. “Mein Gott, who are ye?” He jumped at the sudden voice and against his better judgement, poked his head out. “Je suis- I mean- I-I’m Matthew.” He sputtered as he saw the incredibly pale man standing there. That’s a pirate. Merde. This is where I die.
The moment of death never came, though. “What’s ye purpose, lad?” The pirate asked, narrowing his crazy blue eyes at the younger man.
“I’m- I’m a cabin boy,” Matthew said, before quickly backtracking as the nearly white-haired man moved his hand to his sword. “I- I was supposed to be a surgeon but they didn’t want one and I- I needed th’ work.” The Frenchman squeaked, holding the puppy close to him in an attempt to shield the small white thing from the pirate. The man narrowed his eyes and rested his hand on the hilt of his sword, still on his guard.
“Get off th’ ground, lad. Show me what ye have.” The well-dressed man demanded, motioning with his hand while keeping the other on his weapon. The blond hesitated before slowly getting up, hunched over, keeping his arms around the squirming pup as he turned around to face the pirate. The man’s face softened as the puppy yipped, wagging his tail. “Yer dog got a name, lad?”
Matthew was startled but grateful at the change in attitude, “H-his name is K… Kumajiro? Yeah, I think that’s what it is. I call him Kuma, though…”
“Well, Matthew. We happen to need a good surgeon and barber. And yer dog is a bonus. Join or feed th’ fish, lad. Yer choice” The pirate said as if there was much of a choice in the matter.
Matthew hesitated a moment. Like or death. He didn’t think his maman and papa could bear the thought of their only child perishing at the hands of pirates. They would die of heartbreak. He lifted his soft lavender eyes to meet the crazed blue ones of the threatening man. Making his decision, he straightened his back and rose to his full height. “I-I’ll join yer crew.” He said, wrangling his bravery and determination. “I suppose it’s better than having me throat slit.”
The man flashed a toothy, yellow grin. “Good. We’ll get ye yer oath in no time. There ain’t no turning back, kid.”
The Italian hissed as he stood outside of his apartment. He had left his keys inside before he left for work, and now he was locked out. “Alfred! Open the goddamn door!” He shouted, pounding his fist on the wood. He knew his pesky roommate could hear him, and he scowled as he tried the doorknob again. Still locked. “What in the name of god am I doing?” He grumbled as he picked up a rock and tossed it before turning back to the door. “Alfred, I swear to god, if I count to five and this door isn’t wide open, I’m breaking a window. One.” He threatened, before starting to count, “Two.” He heard rushing footsteps inside. “Three.” He was fumbling with the locks. “Four.” He reeled back, preparing to launch the stone right through the living room window as the door swung open, showing a nervous Alfred. “Fucking asshole.” Lovino grumbled, shoving past Alfred to get into the apartment, “Next time, there will be no warning, and I’m pelting this place.”
*None of these things you put down have to be set in stone, I just want to see that you have a rough idea of where you might want to go. The only thing set in stone is the character.
