As mentioned in the previous app update post, we are reopening musician applications! We are accepting applications until 6/24 at 11:59 PST.
Based on the feedback we received, here are the changes made to the musician app process: Vocalists and instrumentalists have the opportunity to choose a final piece to perform and record from pre-composed pieces written for this project. They will also have the opportunity to be connected with a composer and collaborate to create a piece together.
In addition, here are some questions we received during the app process and wanted to clarify:
We are open to musicians and composers of all ability levels. Musicians may submit covers for their app examples, however for the final zine we are accepting original work only, which is where the collaboration process comes in. For the final audio recordings, we will not be accepting mp3 files, however WAV, AIFF, and FLAC files will all be accepted. We can work with you on conversions if you are not familiar with these file types. If you already applied as a musician, your application is still valid and you do not have to reapply! However, you are welcome to reapply if you would like to change your submission files or collaboration preferences.
If you are even considering applying, please do! We started this zine as a way to create a supportive environment for musicians, artists, and writers to collaborate together!
