Oooh, thanks for asking for something with her!! Hope you enjoy it :3

“Come on, Julian, hurry!” Susanne whispered at the doctor, who was giving her a mix of hesitance and insecurity in his gaze. “Normally, it’s you who likes to break into buildings and be a little bit more adventurous,” she reminded him teasingly, swinging her leg over the window frame to make her way inside the house.
Naturally, it was nothing Julian could just let say, biting her bait as he jumped in after her. “You’re right, I AM the more adventurous of us two. That’s why I need to show concern when you go out of your way and suggest something so... improper.”
Rolling her eyes, Susanne pushed down her skirt and corrected her apron while letting her eyes get used to the shallow dark in the building. “It was you, who wanted to come with me...” she mumbled, feeling the tiniest bit of concern herself when she noticed just how run down the old house was. But with an unexpected arm around her waist, she had no time to dwell on it, Julian’s lips hushing over her cheek for a second or two before he resorted to take her hand and pull her along.
“Can’t let my ray of sunshine do everything on her own, can I? What kind of man would I be if I did that?”
“A reasonable one,” she snorted. “If that’s what you wanted, you should have looked somewhere else than the Rowdy Raven,” he laughed, and the two shared a moment of bumping their hips together affectionately before they moved on.
“So, what was it? A book?”
“Yeah, they said it was an old book with a green cover. We can be out in a whiff if we get our hands on it quickly.” Susanne squeezed his hand for a mere second before she let go, approaching the first bookshelf in the hallway they were standing in. “Nothing,” she lamented, trotting after Julian, who was already one room ahead of her. But before she could enter, he stuck his head out of it again, shaking it lightly. “No books, but kitchenware if you’d like that.”
“I could use a new pan,” she thought out loud. “Oh, Darling. We can get you fifty new pans, but keep your hands off the moldy ones in here,” he laughed meekly, pushing her forward into the next room.
“Seems like an office, great!” Julian announced, going to one side of the room to inspect the shelves on it, using the opportunity to pull out every book that was still standing. “Not every person with a shelf has a secret dungeon behind it, Julian,” she mused, knowing exactly what he was looking for. “That’s too bad. If you and I ever move in together, we definitely should get one.”
Susanne couldn’t help the wide grin on her face. Not like she was excited about a dungeon but moving in with Julian sounded almost divine in her ears. The two of them kept searching for the green book, Susanne picking through a pile on the floor.
Aside from the sounds of their fingers touching everything and the books rustling with the movement, it was pretty quiet. From the one window in the office, the light that broke through the forest outside came in, lighting their way vaguely. “Any luck?” she asked after a while, sighing.
But before Julian could answer, both of them flinched as they heard a loud bang coming from outside the office, their eyes instinctively meeting in a silent question of what to do. ‘The kitchen’ Julian mouthed and Susanne nodded in understanding. Carefully, the two found back together, hands clasped tightly as they exited the office.
With their backs against the wall, they peered into the kitchen, Julian’s head topping Susanne’s as their eyes scanned the area. There wasn’t anything special about it, just moldy kitchenware and some forgotten plates on the counters. There was a table in the middle with a broken chair lying around next to it. Strangely enough, it was quite bright, light coming from the outside, and there were no hints of magic lingering that Susanne could feel.
“Hm, must have been the oldness of this-” The words got caught in his throat as they watched a plate sitting on the countertop fall off it, both of them jumping in surprise. Sure enough, Susanne felt the tough squeeze of Julian’s arms around her as he pulled her along towards the exit in a mad dash.
“Wa- Wait, Julian!”
“Not a chance, we are not doing the ghost hunter act AGAIN!”
“No, stop!” Her hand gripped on tightly to the bookshelf that she could reach for. Surprisingly the old wood didn’t break under Julian’s pull, making the two of them come to an abrupt halt and staggering backwards. Luckily, their adrenaline was high enough to make them quickly take cover and hold their breath. Cowering down behind the bookshelf, their conversation followed in whispers, Julian peering around the wood ever so often, expecting another ghostly figure to appear.
“Susanne, Darling, Dearest, I really don-” Clasping her hands over his mouth, Susanne listened in, waiting if there was any kind of sound. “The book,” she whispered quietly. “Under the table.” For a second, Julian seemed to think before a spark appeared on his eyes and he nodded. She let go of his mouth, and he started to look around, eventually getting up to grab an old painting from the wall and a candlestick that he found standing inside the bookshelf.
Nodding towards her, she got up to follow him, noticing the light shakiness in his grip on the objects and putting her hand reassuringly on his shoulder to let him know he wasn’t alone. Even if he was still scared of ghosts, Julian always played the role of her shining knight, and she couldn’t thank him enough for it.
Together, they rounded around the entrance of the kitchen, warily letting their eyes move from side to side with their backs against the wall. “Oh, Mister Ghost - or Miss Ghost? Do ghosts even have a gender anymore?” he started to babble, Susanne giving him a sharp, “Julian!” for his concentration to which he quickly focused back on the task.
While he stayed on the lookout, she crouched down, reaching for the dark object under the table. Pulling it forward, she was relieved to see that her eyes hadn’t disappointed, the green shining through as she patted off the dust. But right the moment she wanted to show it to him, another clatter went through the kitchenware on the countertops, Susanne jumping to her feet as Julian made an attempt to shield her.
“We are just going to take this book and leave, no harm done! But I am ready to fig-” Even though he sounded heroic as he gave his speech, he didn’t have the time to finish again as the two crossed eyes with their ‘ghost’ for the first time. A small, grey rat peeking out from under a pan. “Oh,” the two gasped simultaneously, giving each other hesitant looks.
Letting out long sighs, the tension fleed their bodies while the rat scurried away, making some more noises. “Well, we got it, no reason to dwell here and sprout roots.”
“Agreed,” Susanne mumbled, pressing the book to her chest while Julian let the objects down on the table and followed her out. He glanced back for another shy second before catching up, helping her jump out the window again and bringing his body outside too. “A rat...” she grumbled, lost in thought. “We got scared of a rat.”
“Sometimes, it be like that, my Love,” Julian chuckled, patting her back. “It only matters that we got the book, right?”
“Right,” she nodded, opening it up in her hands while they kept tracking back their way to the path in the forest. Julian lurked over her shoulder, trying to decipher the writing in it too, eventually shrugging as it was nothing of interest for him. “I hope it was worth the stress of getting it...” Susanne sighed, closing it again and turning to him, linking her arm with his.
“Thanks for coming along, my strong, brave hero,” she teased, pulling him down for a kiss on the cheek.
“Anytime, just let me know,” he chuckled back, turning his head just in time to make a real kiss unavoidable.

A ray of sunshine of an apprentice, searching for her big goal in life.

Susanne comes from a country north of Vesuvia, traveling after her aunt who has already settled in the sunny lands, hoping to find a life of her own, away from her big, farming family back home. Accompanied by her familiar Hubsi, a griffon vulture, she made the long journey south, trying to get used to the new country and new people.
Either you love or not love having Susanne around, her being loud and always speaking her mind. If you take the time to talk to her, she is sure to take worries off you for a while and brighten your day, but she’s almost stubbornly determined on what she wants and won’t take neither criticism nor advice on it. A good talker, yet she has to work on her negotiation skills, but she’s never afraid to go out and meet new people or talk up anyone, even if that person is way out of her league. It’s hard to make her lose her optimism and passion. She smiles more than she thinks things over, leaving people wondering what goes on in her mind. Lately, she smiles even brighter in the company of a certain doctor.
I can! Thank you for asking about the two of them ~♥ To sum it up it was like/TLDR:
Meets vulture
They stare at each other
She keeps on walking, but vulture follows
+1 familiar gained
Named him Hubsi

Traveling from her home town to Vesuvia took her more than a year almost, even though it is roughly eight months of travel. Susanne made a lot of stops in different cities and not always followed the shortest path, which caused her an immense time delay, but if asked, she would do it again the same way. For a big part, she had to travel through a mountain pass with a town before and after it, so there was a lot of camping and patching up her clothes after getting them stuck in between rocks a few times
It’s not unusual to the time in which she went over the mountains that griffon vultures are seen summering on the rocks and up to the point where she met Hubsi, she had already witnessed a few of them around. Susanne didn’t particularly like having them fly over her because she thought they might just be waiting for her to find her end, and that was not what she planned at all. So originally they gave her a bit of a bad feeling, and she’d walk faster when she saw them approach
Unsurprisingly, it did make her jump when suddenly one of them landed directly in front of her, a small wonder she didn’t fall over the knee-high bird and really harm either of them on the rocky path. When she finally got a grip on herself, she noticed how the bird was watching her with it’s big, round eyes. Susanne decided it was best not to anger one bird and have all the others come to protect it, so she made as big as possible of a circle around it, but it would always follow her movements, sometimes ruffling its feathers and opening up the wings, chortling.
When she finally managed to get back on track, she did it on fast feet, but looking back over her shoulder she noticed the vulture jumping after her which seemed very threatening at first and made her walk even faster for a while until she had enough and found herself out of breath. Of course, the bird only made bigger jumps, flying a little but always keeping close to the ground, and when she finally confronted it, it let her pet its head and chest.
Strangely enough, she kind of accepted the company then and there, just like that. She did see familiars back at home, and though a griffon vulture wasn’t what she had expected and she isn’t all too big on the magical aspects of her family anyway, she was just glad she wasn’t talking to herself anymore and named him* Hubsi after discussing names for a while. At first, she still thought he might not come back whenever he took flight and either circled over her head for a while or disappeared. But latest at night he came jumping back, settling down next to her camp
* Susanne gave him the name not knowing his gender or being able to talk to him in the beginning. She just suggested, and Hubsi gave her the coo to go, and she’s very relieved she didn’t accidentally settle with any of the other names she suggested
Man, I’m glad yall seem to like her, I am still so surprised??? Someone would actually ask about her??? Like what???? Anyhow, here’s some more: __________________________
Susanne didn’t take it all too well. She knew something was extremely fishy, but she blamed it on the fact that the two had almost spent two days together sitting on each other, which they had never done before. Even if they were frequent drinking buddies and had done things like stick together until morning before, it was still something different, and she thought that’s what made Julian so uncomfortable
And really, she was more angry at herself for even letting it come this far than at him for breaking off whatever they had. Her life had been tumbling for a bit anyhow with Asra leaving again, and then the Countess approaching her to find a murderer, only to find out that someone she was actually somewhat close to was under suspicion of murdering the Count and then everything that happened upon confronting Julian. She really was all over the place and she still regrets that she didn’t handle the situation better
Because even though he confided that he’d somewhat like being with her, she just felt utterly used and betrayed after all the two had been through since they knew each other. She felt like he used that they had a good relationship before and tried to get more from her because of that, only to reconsider and throw her away. Angry and hurt she didn’t even let him bring her back to her shop, storming off before there was even so much as a real end to it, leaving Julian behind with even more conflicted feelings and having thrown some very heavy accusations into his face too
By the time she got back she had already walked off most of her anger and frustration, leaving only tears behind and the feeling of being an idiot. Asra’s presence didn’t help all too much as she was still angry at him, but at least he helped her calm down and realize what she really wanted to do and she was thankful for that, even if she hadn’t forgiven her magical friend just yet and countered most of his worries with rejection
(I got out of work today and instantly managed to get severely sick, like fever, dizziness, muscle pain, blah, so this is the only thing I could do over the course of today because I did it while I was still more or less sane in the morning, sorry that it’s ‘only’ an apprentice post x.x) You did interpret it right! Also wow, I really wasn’t expecting anyone to ask something for her, I am still surprised! _____________________________
Fact is, they never had a real ‘first date’ and whenever you ask either of them, they will tell you different stories. Their relationship started as drinking-buddies up to their first kiss which was about much later and neither of them knew about who the other was before they were confronted with the whole Devil-dilemma. Susanne just liked hanging out at the Rowdy Raven, and so did Julian, and after a while, they hung out together
For Julian, their first date is the one time they both got so irresponsibly drunk, they spent the whole rest of the night (after getting kicked out of the tavern) lying in a field and stargazing while talking about god and other things that came to mind
For Susanne their first date is the one time they decided to roam the streets instead of kegs for the night and went on a sort of food-/amusement-tour, guided by Julian. She didn’t have her memories back for a long time, so he showed her Vesuvia like she had never been there before and she enjoyed it quite much, especially when the two of them settled at the docks around four in the morning, feeding the fish with bread and talking about their - or really her - future plans
Actually, their first real date was after the awkward night together at Mazelinka once Susanne found out who he really was and he in return had to realize that his longtime drinking-buddy was his new nemesis. They stayed surprisingly honest with each other, breaking down most of the walls that had kept them from being together before, which probably caused even more heartache in their situation for both of them
Eventually, they settled on telling everyone that their first date had actually been the one time Julian arranged a small boat and took her around the canals. She’s still waiting for the day he fulfills a promise he made her that time
