ੈ✩‧₊˚You and April try to go on a date that has been planned for a while mind you. You even went through the trouble of confessing to your parents! yet Draxum doesn't approve.
You and April have been dating secretly for almost a year, tomorrow being the anniversary. No one knew, except Leo(because he's super observant), and coming out as a couple to everyone sounded like a great idea! You two planned to tell the whole Hamato family, Draxum, and you April's and family, and then have fun for the rest of the night with each other! It was gonna be so much fun.
Right now, you and April are shopping for the event you have been planning for weeks. You guys decided to go full out, you and April going overtime for some extra cash for the both of you guys!
"blankets…spicy snacks…dino nuggets…chips…extra pillows…I think we're all set! What do you think [name]?" April counted off, ensuring that the rest of the items were in the cart. You nodded in reassurance, yet snuck a few more of your favorite snacks in. She started to push the cart towards check out, rolling her eyes in amusement.
You guys finally get in the car, and buckle in your seatbelts. The a/c was on, as summer nights in New York were hotter than usual. April continues driving, taking some turns and stops when legally needed. While she was doing that, [name] started to look out the window, buildings speeding by. She was in her own world, as traffic wasn't as present.
"This is great! All we have to do is be prepared to confess, and the date. is. ON!!!" I cheered, pumped up for tonight. It's 8:49 as of now, and confessions will start soon. We decided to do some cheesy shit like staying up until 12:00, the official day of our dating anniversary. We planned to tell my family first…They make several gay jokes, but they also joke about me being gay and how it could never happen…Welp! Now or never, 'if anything goes wrong, I still got my totallyfullproof plan.' The windows in the car rolled down a bit, as it was hot at night. Which was weird, but ever since Leo became leader everything started to get weirder. Raph also started to get more anxious and more strict. As if something bad was getting ready to happen. We were parked in front of the house, my childhood home. I've lived here since day one, so why do I feel so nervous about walking in?
My hands started to shake side to side, to stim and distract myself.
"What's up suga plum? You nervous?" April asked.
"yea…"
"wanna tell me why?" She said as she put her hand on my shoulder. She started tracing hearts, my name, and other things to calm me down. My leg started bouncing up and down out of habit. I started to sink into my seat the more and more I spoke.
"I guess…it's because they never knew, you know? My mom and dad were my first emotional comforts, yet they weren't the first to know. it…it almost makes me… disappointed in myself. Just knowing that.. It makes me feel like I should keep it a secret forever. But I can't, because they always find out. but then, what if they don't like that I've been keeping it in for so long? what if-" I got interrupted by April with a finger over my mouth. I must have been rambling. My fingers started tapping and clenching, waiting for the two second silence to be over.
"[n/n] hun, this is the now. Won't you feel bad if they never knew? Let's at least get this over with, because if they don't like how you are..well you have me right?" "yea-" "ATCH! I haven't finished yet! You also have other people you like, the turtles, your friends, distant family… and guess what honeybee?" She lifted up my chin, her eyes full of trust…in me. Her smile is everything to me, the way she talks is just…
"... your family loves you wayyy too much to kick you out, or even…I don't even know what you're thinking. They may ask you if you want this, or if you think this is how you want to go. I promise, it won't be that bad. You know why? It's because it may feel impossible, but sometimes, you just have to take the first step." Her hand rested on my cheek, and she smiled at me with all of the love in the world. Just for me, as if I needed it the most.
She pulled me in for a small kiss, shifting my whole mind. It may have been a peck, but my whole body was heating up at the affection. My eyes went wide and my hand went to my lips instantly. April giggled at my reaction, finally bringing me back to earth. My senses went numb, yet the only thing I could sense was her. As if nothing else needed to be minded.
All in my mind..I could only think 'woah…WAIT THIS WAS OUR FIRST KISS!!!' She had all of her trust in me…this moment made me confident. I smiled up at her, a tear falling down as I unbuckled my seatbelt. I looked in her eyes, just to see if there was any doubt, switching pupil to pupil. Yet, there wasn't. Only flexibility, love, and trust.
"aww, baby don't cry!" I chuckled at her, letting her know I was ok.
I look out the open window to see my parents a few feet away from the car. They were staring at me, taken by surprise at the scene that played out in front of them, me instantly giving the same look. April looked confused for a moment before looking where I was, showing an awkward smile.
"Hello Mr. and Mrs. [l/name]! How are.. you on this.. fine night? hehe." After that, it was silent, [s/name] must have been inside at the moment. I slowly walked out of the car, into the driveway, with my hands gripping each other. April soon walked out too, standing right next to me. After a few years of silence (which was really only 2 minutes, almost 3) I spoke up.
"Hey mom, dad. umm.. how are you?" Silence still rang out, as they were still shocked, yet their faces were a bit more…confused and patient than before. "Can we just go inside before we start explaining? There's something I've been wanting to tell you for a long time."
Once we got inside we explained the whole situation. How we met, when we started dating, and the event we planned for tonight. Everything was said during the conversation, including the first kiss we shared in the car, the one that they had seen. [s/name] still hasn't come from their room, he must have been asleep already.
Me and April were sitting in the love seat, while I was looking down at my lap. Mom and dad were sitting on the long couch, listening carefully and responding patiently. April grabbed my hand and started rubbing it. I could tell she was nervous too, yet she was brave for me…for us.
"Wow… that's a lot to take in" My mom started. She was sitting next to my father on the couch, literally, clutching her pearls. "I'm not sure what to continue with, but I do want to tell you I'm glad that you found the right person for you. If you like pussy, that's that." Mom finished, looking me in the eyes. She crossed her legs and leaned on Dad's shoulder. April chuckled at the claim, while I covered my face that was overheating.
"We've only been dating for about a year, it's not like that yet!" I said in a small voice, starting to get uncomfortable about the subject. Talking about this with my parents has always embarrassed me, with or without reassurance.
"I agree with your mom, though I do think you two should be… idk, maybe not so close to each other?wait- WhAt dO yOU MeAn bY 'nOT YeT'???" My dad replied, earning a smack in the neck from my mom. The room soon filled with quiet chuckles and laughs. Finally the air in the room was breathable, making a small grin appear on my face. April was right, trust is only given if received. The conversation continued, helping April and my parents to know each other a bit more.
"I'm happy you guys accepted us Mr. and Mrs. [l/name]" April giggled, still entertained by the situation.
"I can't believe that I was so nervous! I almost had a breakdown in the car… I'm not sure why, but I was afraid you guys would put me out of your life, like with our uncle…" I whispered, afraid that I may have said something wrong. After my uncle came out as gay at a family reunion, he suddenly started seeing us less, only sending us gifts for holidays and birthdays. Even those have been coming short recently.
"[name], the only reason we don't see him as much is because he believes that we don't like him for who he is. That isn't the truth, he made that decision based on what he thought was going to happen. He was the one that created his fears into reality." My father explained. 'Dam, dis shi deep. I can't believe this? If I had done the same…'
The room had gotten silent again, April started shuffling while my mom went to leave to another room. My face started to lift as I looked up at my dad. I walked across the room and gave him a deep hug. I looked towards April and gestured her towards us, her too joining the physical affection. The middle of the room became a standing cuddle fest.
In my family, this means 'I love you, and I apologize for what I have done. I will do better.' Then we go out for froyo or some shit. But that doesn't matter, what matters is that we trust each other enough to let the family know certain things. After all, how would they approach you?
"Don't open this until your date, got it ladies?" My mom had come back and brought us a gift. She saw us in a huggy-fest( what my lil bro likes to call them) and joined in too. We all let go, me and April holding hands, Mom and Dad leaning on each other. Mom handed us the gift, and we soon took our leave. We got to the end of the driveway before my Dad called out to us.
"Hey [name]?" My Dad called, leaning against the front door. I turned around as my girlfriend went to the car. I turn back and tilt my head to the side, a sign that I'm listening.
"We love you! We hope that you continue with...well being you. Remember, you are my first daughter. Anything you say will not make us hurt you, cuss you out, or even kick you out. Sure we may say what you should do, but it's because we're still your parents. We are supposed to guide you, and trust is valued . Have a goodnight!" He finished, and turned around giving me a small wave. My smile goes upwards at his words, what was I so afraid about?.
I walked back to the car, and April, who had watched the scene, looked happy! We both agreed that this night started off great, so now it will finish awesome.

After confessing to April's family, all we had to do was go to the Hamato Clan, and by the Hamato clan, I mean the turtles, Splinter, and Draxum. Me and April jumped back into the car from the apartment. The talk with Ms.O' Neil wasn't that bad, she was very calm about it. We even made cookies and stayed a bit longer than usual. Though she did warn me if I created any problems, specifically breaking April's heart. Something I would never do.
We jumped out of the car and walked into the empty parking lot. We all decided that very important things would be held at this abandoned building, things like birthdays, huge missions, and other discussions would be told here. The Shredder had destroyed the lair and Donnie's lab. They decided to move in for a bit because the sewers were a bit screwed up after the fight, so this was like their second home. I decided to help by giving up some of my furniture from my room, which were just 2 futon beds and 4 bean bags. I do hope that's enough…
We walked in and everyone was on the ground floor. Beanbags, blankets, and giant pillow were thrown around the corners of the room to make it more cozy. Mikey and Leo were watching some 3am scam vid, Raph was doing push-ups (though, it did sound like he was mumbling about his brothers' laziness), Donnie was resting on his spider legs on his phone, and Splinter was watching some cheesy rom coms on a new tv. Some rubble is scattered around, but in a comfortable way…no, and organized way. Donnie probably did this. Draxum looked like he was memorizing some new spells from a book I've never seen.
Leo sees us and greets us happily. He then runs out, only to come out and give us a rainbow cake saying 'be who you are~', in fancy font. The cake had a small drawing of Draxum and Splinter. "aw sHIt-" Ayo? Leo runs out of the room for a minute, just to come back with another one. This time it had the lesbian and the bisexual flag on it, both being split on a diagonal. It had a small icing drawing of me and April, with arrows pointing at us saying, 'they like each other in a gay way'. He gets down on one knee, and presents it to us with a goofy smile on his face.
"Stay silly…Stay queer my friends." He said in a soft voice, obviously messing around. He looked up at us with a totally not furry an anime girl face. Though the cake looked weird, I was grateful. It looked cooked all the way, hopefully, and the icing wasn't really dripping down the tray. The thought was nice, though…nevermind, it's the thought that counts, I guess. My girlfriend crossed her arms, a fake sass pulling up to her face.
"Leo, sitcho ass down somewhere, goofy ahh, thanks for the cake tho-" April said, flicking a part of his face where his nose would be. He sneezed a bit as she took the cake, a lil sad expression making way. I start to giggle a bit, and April sits down next to ratman. I thank Leo, and comment on his weird statement. Goatman looks confused at his words, though it does make sense. He only started exploring the human world in less than a year, he can barely handle slang. The youngest then questioned,
"What does- ga(e) mean? Oh! Are they gonna start flying away? YOU GUYS HAD WINGS AND YOU NEVER TOLD ME?!?!?" Mikey asked as he started shaking Raph. Ain't no way he didn't know what that meant. He's a fucking YouTube kid for lord's sake! Bro prolly watched CoryxKenshin, EddieVr or something- ANYTHING! At age 11, i- let's not go there. My point is, how did he not figure it out yet?
"YOU guys, are in for a big ride- or shall I say, quite a queer one- aha uha!" Leo joked in a British accent. Me and April deadpanned while the others still looked confused. We all sat down and me and April explained ourselves. As we had done so twice already, we explained our relationship for the umpteenth time. We gave a few examples of how we like each other, small things like hand holding, certain hugs and other things like that to show Mikey of how we like each other.
Raph speaks up first, and congratulates us. Draxum on the other hand looks a teensy bit pissed…
"So...You guys like- kiss and stuff? Man… I kinda knew it, but I didn't know how to explain it. I'm happy for y'all! Keep that away from me :)" Mikey popped in, still sorta new to the topic. He just needs to learn the terms and he'll be fine. Though, he did seem uncomfortable with the concept of dating, which would be normal for a 14 year old. Anyway,
Donnie and Splinter say, "knew it", fist bumped, collected their money from Raph, and went back to their devices. Did they just?
Meanwhile, Draxum looks at us crazy. "no"
"huh?"
"I said NO! No animal like you should be intimate with her!" He yelled, striking a finger at me. My brain took a moment to process, as that had taken a huge turn. My mind was not present, as I was quite literally standing like that one emoji. I blinked twice and came back to reality.
"Hold the fuck up…Who are you? Aren't you the bum who Mikey captured? Were you not homeless? Stoopid, almost lost a ducking cafeteria job for messing with shit weren't supposed to touch in the first place. April isn't even your daughter, sooo- Your opinion doesn't matter all that much to me. Cope, seethe, touch grace, L+ratio+usuckeggs." I retorted without thinking, hand gestures and all. My eyes widened and I covered my mouth. 'OH SHI- IM BOUT TO FUCKIN DIE TODAYYYY~' I thought as I was thinking of the totallyfullproof plan I had earlier.
"..." It was silent in the room. Draxum looked even worse than before, he. was. livid. His head was narrowed down, and his hands were quite literally grasping for something to squeeze. As I was about to position my legs for a running start, suddenly weak vines tugged on my ankles and made me trip. Everyone else backed up and Draxum approached me, slowly. My breathing picked up, just slightly as the aura in the room became dark. I sat up and started backing up into a wall, in fear of the consequences to my oh-so stupid actions.
'nawww, jit trippin' is what you would say if this was a normal family. Or at least, a human one, yet it is not. deal with it bozo. The goat literally started growling, which I was pretty sure wasn't natural for his species. I honestly hope he isn't straining his voice, though, he is kinda a trash bag. His hooves suddenly looked more menacing as they stepped closer towards my figure.
"you...You dare defy me? you meatbag! Your hair follicles look like saggy yokai testicles, with extra mystery meat on top!" He shot back instantly. Oh, it is on!
"You get no bitches hobo, looking like those chemicals that the turtles use. Ugly ahh, it's giving 'if earthworm Sally ate an overly dyed purple grape.' Genetically engineered headass." I snapped back after a few seconds. The turtles immediately began picking sides of who would win, both teams still looking surprised. Donnie tries his best to stay in the middle, and by that I mean he was the cameraman for April's reports of the fight. It was chaos. This continued back and forth, until Baron ended it all.
"Go my beautiful babe!" As she should, April was cheering me on.
"That's why you don't like men! Your Dad's looks used! Parental figure affairs, am I right? Splinter loves those." He said proudly…Ain't no way. All the records scratched at this absolute BS.
"Yo wtf?"
"YOU LOOK AT PEOPLE'S CROTCHES!?!?"
"aw hell naw..nasty as hell bro."

Everyone was just screaming at this point, freaking out, out of their minds at this new revelation. Body spasms, sprinting, shaking, jumping, and tippy toeing were all necessary. Leo just pulled out the other cake and presented it to Baron and Splinter. I could hear Donnie cackling in the distance, his bad boy facade broken completely. April was face palming, Mikey was basically having a seizure mid air, and Raph was just yelling random things out.
Splinter just sighed at this, but we all knew he wanted to laugh so bad at this point. The foolishness is real. Draxum was just standing there, as if he didn't just say he liked eyeballing male no-no squares, AND he admitted he and ratman were dating. While me, I was just frozen. Even though I looked weirded out, I really wanted to roast this man some more. I kinda also wanted to congratulate Splints if he came out normally. Maybe even laugh at him and bully him as if he was a 9 year old on Roblox for sexing a goat. But this …I don't even know what to say.
Now that I think about it, BD probably thought of April as a daughter. The turtles see her as an older sister, and Splinter sees her as another kid so it's understandable. I just absolutely violated him for no reason. I should apologize, but that will come later.
And so we left it at that…I'm so glad Donnie recorded that.

After celebrating for a few more hours, it then became 11:12. Leo wanted to do another just dance challenge, but I was pooped. Donnie was up for it though, Mikey was his emotional support, and Raph was still exercising.
We say our goodbyes and leave the alt lair, jumping back inside April's car. I didn't wanna be late for the anniversary, as I had chosen the spot. With me in the driver's seat, and April in passenger, I drove us to somewhere special. Or at least for me. The first confession.
We get to a small park, clear of smog, fog, dead frogs, leaping logs, screaming hogs, tippy toe agues, or whatever the fuck is in New York air. The stars were beautiful at this spot. The sky looked great at this spot, as the only things covering the galaxy were the small chunks of cloud scattered.
April grabs the blanket, while I get the rest of the items. I choose a spot inside the playset, gifting it as the perfect place. We created a mini fort, the clothing racks, blankets, and pillows shielded all around us. I placed the snacks down in one place, while the drinks were in a small tub of light ice. It looked like a giant fidget-square-thingy of comfort!
I finally sat down next to April, who was laying on her stomach. She sat up, and rested her head on my thighs. With one hand I started patting her head, with the other holding her hand. She let out a huge sigh.
"Man, I never get tired of these things." April dazed out, seemingly in another world. I had the small box that my mom gave to us in my pocket. I opened it up to see two pins. One said 'my super gay daughter' while the other said '-->the one she is gay for'. My face lit up again at this, the titles slightly embarrassing. I gave April hers as she laughed and put it on, as I did the same.
At the bottom of the box, there was a letter. It read,
'Hello my lovely daughter. I know I may not seem as if I like your choice…I mean, I'm straight so but I do support you as long as you are safe and happy. I don't want anything to ruin that beautiful mind of yours. I want you to embrace your talent, be who you are~ I want you to be a good person.
Please don't hurt yourself, no matter what. I hope you and April live a happy life together, and work through any problem possible. Me and your father, or rather, the whole family will always love you. Little [s/name] wants you to visit soon!

"I love you bae." I whispered, enjoying the view of the stars and the landscape placed before us. I folded the note back up, with a content smile on my face. I pull the blanket over our bodies, the bugs and cold nipping at our skin. Practicing sign language from the playset sounded like the best thing to do in the moment.

"OK!ok!- haha" I interrupted, the compliments getting to me. I nervously chuckled at her words, the way she speaks made me want to fly into...I don't know what, but I want to do so.
