While separating relationships into strictly sexual, platonic, or romantic or some combination of those is fine for understanding the aromantic and asexual spectrum at a basic level, we must eventually understand that some relationships will never fit into these categories, often queer relationships are more complex than that, and our definition of queer relationships must include abstract relationships. As a community based on gender anarchy, debasing gender roles, and freedom to feel how we will, we have to move away from immediately defining relationships. 2026 edit: I’m serious if someone says that a relationship is ambiguous or anarchic or unlabeled and you say it’s a queerplatonic relationship you are labeling their relationship.

I grew up with neglectful and emotionally abusive parents. I spent my entire teenage life severely depressed, hopeless, and miserable. When I came out as trans, it got worse. My parents pretended to support me to my face, and then would turn around behind my back and be unusually cruel. Ultimately, my father ended up kicking me out at 17, saying he "couldn't deal with the trans crap" anymore. So, I left.

Now, I'm married to my trans husband, and we have three cats and are thriving together. His family is so loving and supportive, and I finally feel safe and happy. I started testosterone myself after moving out, and I feel so much happier than I've ever been in my entire life. I can't even imagine feeling the way I used to feel now, that depressed hopeless kid feels centuries away.

It gets better!!!! So much better! You are so much more than your hardest moments, and YOU get to decide that you deserve happiness ❤️

Jealously isn’t inherently evil. It’s not some relationship crime.

But like any emotion, it should be analyzed and managed and put to purpose. Not left to fester into something worse.

Communicate your jealousy and understand where it comes from, and what can be done to mend its cause.

Being asexual is actually just a constant struggle of condemning queer-baiting in media because it's a damaging and predatory practice, while also preferring those same queer-baity relationships over explicitly romance-and-fuck-on-screen couples, because queer relationships that get baited tend to express profound friendship and love in incredibly unique ways that are inherently asexual-coded

Okay, I can’t be the only one who finds it strange that romantic love is the only love people are expected to reserve for a single person at a time, right? Like, if someone told you you could love only one of your family members, only one of your friends, or even only one of your belongings, you’d probably look at them like they’re crazy. Yet, for some reason, with romantic love, not only are you expected to only love one person at a time, but people look at you like you’re the crazy one when you’re open to loving more.

Actually, now that I’m typing this, it may have to do with romantic love being put on a pedestal and being considered more important than other types of love. The society that rags on aromantics for not finding “The One” might be the same society that rags on ethical non-monogamists for finding more than One. Like romantic love is a prize to win. By this logic, you can’t get the prize if it doesn’t exist, and the prize has less meaning if more than one person can get it. There has to be a prize, but specifically only one or else people find both your love and the effort it takes to get it worthless. Does this make sense? Cuz I wasn’t expecting to just randomly make this connection while I was typing.

I really wish that the BL industry would stop pandering so much to cishet viewers. Pushing heteronormativity so much that the actors/characters can't even switch from series to series.

In the bts for the ThamePo finale when they were filming the final scene where Thame and Po walk back into Po's room, Est jokingly talked about Po carrying Thame into the bedroom, he even picked William up to carry him but the staff said "wrong positions" and "it'll confuse the viewers" ... no viewers that actually know anything about queer relationships would be confused.

Something I liked about The Heart Killers was that Kant was the top and Bison was the bottom but Kant was the submissive one while Bison was dominant.

And in Jack & Joker they clearly showed that they're verse because they both tried to be the top and Jack implied that Joke could top next time.

We need to see more versatility in BLs. Less fixed positions, let them be switches and verse (or hell more characters that are Sides, someone who doesn’t like to top or bottom). Just something else other than the heteronormative roles that are constantly pushed on queer relationships. We get enough of that in real life, I'd like for these queer shows to not cater to the cishet audience.
