I've picked an old drawing I had saved here (I think it was meant for last year's Inktober) that I've never published (I think, I don't really remember) and I tried to experiment with the texture of the original scan. I think I'm onto something, but I dunno what.

AT is big on gangs and crime. There's Destiny Gang, Bath Boy Gang, Pup Gang, Jake's old gang... All the eps where Finn and Jake go Good Cop/Bad Cop and investigate weird biz... You think it's just a theme in the show? Or an aftereffect of the Mushroom War?

Gangs are just a staple of post-apocalyptic fiction. Mad Max, Fallout, Fist of the North Star, etc (you’re right, should be Adventure Time also)

And AT characters act as detectives/cops/spies all the time, not just Finn and Jake.  Mystery is a fun genre to explore.

Bonus facts about boardogs:

they act more like dogs then boars

the babies are called "Puplets"

they grow big enough that you can ride them

they smell like mulch and fresh earth

they are good pets and are very loyal

there not overly aggressive, just protective

they can run up to 40 mph

since they take more after dogs then boars, there not very intelligent
