Rain

Fire, pain, blood, and tears. The day was forever singed into his memory. Destroyed homes, families trying to find each other, and Doctors dashing around to help as many injured Ponies as they could.

After a curse had turned a friend into a raging Dragon, Stream tried her best to stop the spreading fires around them. But Aqua froze, and he never realised he was in peril, until Stream rescued him.

He would have been gravely injured without her, but he never forgave himself for letting Stream get hurt in his place. Back then, Aqua could do nothing but pull Stream closer to him, and comfort her.

But now, after he woke up with a bloodcurdling scream, with great pain in his chest, Aqua instantly jumped out of his bed, hurried downstairs as his eyes welled up, and charged into the pouring rain.

Sprinting through the dimly lit streets of the dark city, Aqua did not care about the cold, nor the rain, or what would happen to his dyed mane. After such a dream, he had to know Stream was alright.

His exhaustion grew, his heart beat faster and his breathing quickened, until the familiar barracks appeared in the distance, and he breathed a sigh of relief when he saw their truck was still there.

At that moment, Smudge was working in the garage when she saw Aqua sprinting to her, and she got up to meet him. But she could not utter even a single word before Aqua cried out he had to see Stream.

Not often had Smudge heard such panic in Aqua's voice, so she called to the others in the barracks, asking them to meet her in the garage, and to bring a couple of towels and something warm to drink.

After Stream and Hatchet hurried over and saw Aqua, soaked, in Smudgy's embrace, Stream asked if he was alright. But Aqua did not utter a single word as he tightly embraced her, and cried in silence.

Every present Firepony gently smiled as Hatchet covered Aqua with a towel, and Stream tried to calm him down as he continuously apologised. But Stream only pulled him closer and quietly promised him:

"I forgive you."
