Pokemon anime: Farewell! The Wandering Rocket-dan! (design ideas)

As promised, here's the first Pokemon-themed post I've made for ya, guys :-D

Y'know, after re-watching the episode from Pokemon: Ultimate Journeys named "Farewell! The Wandering Rocket-dan!" (also known as "The Good, The Bad, and The Lucky!" in English Dub) in its OG Japanese dub, I got a thought…

We all remember Butch's Meowth and even though she was designed to resemble Meowzie, I honestly like her with all those green ribbons she wears in the episode. This shows that Butch definitely changed his attitude towards pokemon, which is good.

Plus what I like about this little Meowth of his is that she's definitely nicer than Meowzie - even though she didn't end up with the Rocket Meowth (because she was already in a relationship with a Persian), she definitely didn't mind him being able to talk like a human. Remember how mean Meowzie was when Meowth learnt how to talk (purely out of love for her)?

Anyway, back to the topic: GREEN RIBBONS. This accessory gave me an idea that maybe all of Butch's pokemon might wear something green, so I took my tablet and started creating.

And here I present you what I came up with!

It's still unfinished yet I'm pretty happy with the results.

By the way, you've probably already noticed but in the whole post, haven't I spelled Butch's name wrong, not even once...

Why didn't I, you might be asking?

It's simlpe:

1) I'm not an idiot.

2) I've never seen the gag as something funny, to be honest.

And 3), it would be hypocritical of me, when I used to face a similar problem: to be short, some people tended to get my real-life surname wrong when I was younger (even though my real surname isn't very difficult to remember). *sigh* people...

we are different

I was upset with Alan's defeat during The Masters 8 Tournament because his character didn't shine as much as he could have even without winning. The writing was strange, I can't think that this Alan was the same Alan from post-Pokémon xyz and I'm not afraid to say that he could shine on the field without winning, as he has done a few times, and this makes it seem as if the writers weren't very committed to writing Alan from Pokémon Ultimate Journeys even though he was wonderful while he lost independently

But you keep crying because of Ash's defeat in Kalos because he lost, and for people who call themselves his fans, you don't talk much about how badass the whole match against Alain was. Not ironically Ash almost won, if he changed his strategy even slightly maybe he would have won. I hardly see these people who love to complain A LOT that the Kalos league was stolen and that Ash should have crushed Alan talking about how good the fight was, how well Ash fought in Kalos, and I repeat, almost won. The fight was well done, well designed, well performed, fun for those who watched and for the characters and even after that you can only talk about Ash losing as if it were something rare or impossible.

At some point at the very end of the anime before the league ends the 'crown' of focus for development was passed on to Alain, Alain was the one who needed to understand that being the strongest isn't everything, something that Ash had already understood an arc ago, and that the search for strength technically blinded him to the true dangers of the team flare plan, and that's what he understands at the end of Pokémon Xyz. And honestly love this break, when it seems like everything is going to be fine for Alain, that happens.

/hj but seriously fans of Ash from xyz, if you stopped crying and bothering JUST BECAUSE Ash lost and focused on how Ash also shine in Kalos, the ending of Kalos would be less boring for you.

What I want to say is that the dramatic and emotional charge of Alan winning It's bigger and makes more sense than if Ash won, at least that's how I interpret it.

A new batch of episodes of “ultimate journeys” was released in my country recently, and the Iris vs Cynthia episode punched me in the gut again ;_;. (I’m still salty that Iris didn’t get a single win during her cameos, but that’s a rant for another time.)

I know that they couldn’t show Ash and Iris hugging after her loss due to cultural differences, so I wanted to draw a tender moment between them. Ash know more than anyone else how painful it is to come so far, but still not quite make it.

Anyways, I loved their cute interactions during Journeys. Negaishippers, we’ve been fed good this season 💕
